Great coffee table conversation starter!
I absolutely loved this graphics collection. I saw it at a gift shop out of town and didn’t pick it up. I then stumbled upon it on amazon and immediately ordered it as a coffee table conversation starter. The shipping was great, no damage or issues whatsoever and I love the content! Great piece for any artist’s book collection.

Poor print quality - unacceptable for the subject matter
This would be a very nice reference if the printing was up to par. As it is, the numerous art reproductions throughout appear very dull compared to the original prints they represent.

You can find better
2 big disappointments on his book:1. Focus is more on the British 60's scene that is secondary to the American psychedelic poster movement2. Several inaccurate and misleading statements of "fact" are not actually true or are misrepresented based on a summary of the events. Very dull writing throughout.Nice photos, though, if you just want to look at pretty pictures.

A fascinating and beautiful history
This is an astonishingly well-presented account of the evolution of rock graphics. After a short introduction tracing the roots of the genre back to the 19th Century and beyond, Peter Golding and Barry Miles launch into a comprehensive inventory of the best of psychedelic poster art from 1955 to 1988. Not only are the complete posters beautifully reproduced, but in some cases the process of production itself is revealed, from the sketchbooks and paste-ups through the colour separations to the finished products. A significant contribution to the history of 20th Century art.

Its a trip man, and i was there ?
Really well put together history of the mainly US psych posters of the 60/70's.Good to have (a few) in one place and some new interesting facts for me.Its also good for graphic artists as lots of rough drawings of early ideas.Few things missing are Martin Sharps stuff from OZ and more of his posters. You do get a lots of IT covers thoughWould have been great to have all the UK Hashish/Big O posters Etc at the end with cat numbers and small thumbnail photos, but guess thats a lot of work. The Filmore/mouse posters can be found in other US publications

Not really new
I bought the book as "New" but the book arrived with the cover crumpled, torn and glued with tape.
