Durable and Effective Radon/Sump Dome – A Great Investment!
The Original Radon/Sump Dome (Model: SMR16101-CV) has been an excellent solution for sealing my radon mitigation system. The dome is made from high-quality, durable materials that seem built to last, and it fits perfectly over my sump pit. It provides a tight seal, ensuring that radon gas is effectively vented outside and that my home remains safe. The installation was straightforward, and the dome securely covers the sump, preventing any debris or water from getting in. The design also allows for easy maintenance, making it simple to inspect or adjust if needed. I’m really impressed with the performance of this radon sump dome. Since installing it, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the overall air quality in my home, and it gives me peace of mind knowing my radon mitigation system is working properly. The dome’s design is well-thought-out, with a sturdy structure that can handle the elements and any potential pressure changes in the sump. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality dome for radon or sump applications, the SMR16101-CV is a great choice. It’s an affordable and effective solution that keeps my home safe and secure. Highly recommend!

Worked perfectly to seal my sump and add radon mitigation.
The sump pump cover arrived just as shown. Nice molding and thick walls. Everything fit together well. Following another reviewer, thank you, I used a reasonable amount of silicone seal on all the pre-installed plastic nuts and let it set up. Also put a small amount of silicone grease, or you could use Vaseline, on the stainless bolts which allowed then to screw in with very little force and none of the nuts fell off. My cement floor wasn't perfectly level but again, a good layer of silicone seal, almost two tubes, allowed for a good seal. 1/4 inch by 1 1/4 Tap-Cons with stainless fender washers, you need 12, were used to anchor it to the floor. My sump pump discharge pipe is sch 40 1 1/2 inch. The included seal worked great. The threaded fitting for the radon pipe connection is for 3-inch sch 40 threaded pipe adapter. If you have 4-inch pipe, you could use an adapter which for an inch or so, wouldn't slow down the flow very much. If they provided a 4-inch adapter, that would make this cover perfect. I put the provided lid bolts and washers through the lid while upside down resting on a flat surface to hold them in and applied the lid rubber seal over the bolts. After turning the lid over to mount, the seal stayed in place and the lid was easily bolted down. The supplied rubber grommet allows the sump pump wire to seal well and I added another small hole for the wire to my sump warning switch. There are several other sections in the grommet if you run another wire for another pump or something else. Pulling out this grommet from the lid will allow easy removal of the wires when you need to remove the lid for pump replacement. The added viewing window is a plus so you can see what is going on under the lid. This is a good sump pump cover which allows for the needed disassembly when sump pump service is needed. I've seen some covers that just have a plate with tons of silicone which would make disassembly a nightmare. I should have installed this cover years ago.

Awesome radon sump dome!
Great sturdy and quality made product. Great option to cover a sump pump pit. Used this and a tjernlund radon fan to bring my basements radon readings down below 1. Straight forward install and very happy with the quality.

Nice product, difficult install, but can be done with patience
This manufacturer puts out a nice product to seal off radon emissions from a sump pump pit. Pros: - Sturdy material yet flexible for uneven floors. - Fits well over a typical pit and can be adjusted for various pump positions in the pit. - Can buy additional cord grommets for 2 and 3 cord systems such as with backup pump systems. - Comes with a variety of covers and plates for various pipe sizes. - Can be set up to passively vent the pit or seal off completely the pit. Cons - The gasket is the weakest component that seals the lid to the cover. It is flimsy, somewhat undersized, and difficult to install correctly. - The plastic nuts that accept the bolts will fall out as you install the lid, requiring you to start over. Tips: - Glue the plastic nuts in with silicon caulk and let cure before attempting lid install. Silicon allows you to remove a nut if it strips out and replace. - Glue the gasket with silicon caulk also to try and keep it in position. - Before drilling cover holes into concrete, to a test install with full pump setup. The design offsets of the holes allows you to rotate the cover and lid in various positions to accommodate the pump discharge pipe. Be sure to align the lid holes with the cover holes before drilling. - Seal the pipes and lid with black flexible stay-soft putty. I used some from Eastwood Paints I had left over from a car project. This gives you a tight seal and easy removal later if needed. Plumber's putty probably also works. - I used plain ole 100% silicon clear caulk to seal the cover to the concrete floor, applied generously. I used two regular caulk tubes. - I used Tapcon screws to hold cover down to floor and hammer drill for holes. I avoid off-brand screws as if they break off, it is a pain to get out. I've never had a Tapcon shear off.

Very nice and high quality!
Super high quality. Very rigid and comes with absolutly everything you need to make it work with the exceptions on fasteners for the base. I used 1/4" anchors from Amazon and they worked great. I also used a radon caulk that I bought at Home Depot to seal the base at the floor. It comes wiith all seals and adaptors and very comprehensive direction. Even come with a jig for locating side openings. It realy is a great piece.

Great product practically indestructible
I've had mine installed for months now. Still going strong. I would recommend anybody to grind their concrete floor prior to siliconing it and screwing it to the floor. Excellent product!!

Had this cover installed by a plumber 3 weeks ago, and it works great. We also attached a fan to move radon out. In the sump room the monitor registered between 300-400 bq/m3 before installation. 😀With this cover and fan it fluctuates now between 5-20 bq/m3. Wish I’d had this installed years ago.

I haven't installed it yet but after inspecting the package contents, I'm very impressed with the dome's design, versatility and overall excellent build quality. The only surprise was that the unit's overall diameter is 28 inches (see attached photo), not 21 inches as was shown in one of the online vendor photos when I placed my order. This larger overall size could be problematic in tight installation locations. In my case, the sump pit is located in a corner, right next to a water softener, so it will be super tight, but hopefully manageable.
