Warmest regards, Moo **Q: Do you need to buy special bags or can you use to seal any bag like chips and misc bags?** A: I bought 1 gallon Mylar bags ( 5 mil) and O2 absorbers for long term food storage. I found the LinsnField 16” worked best on the #3 heat setting. I followed the instructions for timing the sealing duration and every bag was a success. I read some reviews that stated the heating element had burned out. Heeding that warning, I used only the amount of heat necessary for a full and complete seal (#3). It took a little bit of experimentation but I haven’t yet had one malfunction. I hope this helps.
