Educative Jee Mathematics (THIRD Edition)

Awesome book, but to be read with caution by JEE aspirants.
Read Educative commentary on JEE papers from 2003 onwards on internet, you'll get the idea of what this book is (actually if like those then you are going to love the book), you'll be able to understand that though one should oh! sorry, I mean - MUST - read this book for overall development of his mathematical skills (at least in India, I am pretty sure - you don't get to see anything close to this at high school level.), but still if you are preparing for JEE then you should use this book wisely, keeping in mind that you have "very" limited time in hand (those who start early must read this book completely - cover to cover.)If asked to compare then I would say that this book is something like hall and knight, but much detailed and much better (and much costlier), covers entire JEE syllabus (and more than that) instead of only algebra.Book is meant for those with a basic understanding of +2 level of maths. Does not contain proof for many theorems, so you'll need another standard book for that (ncert or RD Sharma or whatever you prefer), if you don't know them already, and think it is mandatory for you to know each and every proof. If you have time and patience and endurance and strength then you may get a preview of this book on google books - see for yourself what the book is about. I would advice reading disclaimer at least though I would say that I have made cautions quite clear in this review. For those who think - What about the part which I would not able to finish during +2?Just read it in 1st - 2nd semester of college and during the break in between joining the college and after all the entrance exams. If you are - I don't want to take science as my primary field, I am IIT--> IIM --> MNCs (and package of crores). You might want to skip this book.

dont buy this book without doing basics
one thing to remember while buying this book is that it is not a textbook, therefore it cannot be used for studying theory, rather i would describe this as an art of problem solving book, it has good exercises, but dont buy this book for beginner purposes, do this book only if u have enough time in the end after completing all the basics, because the book assumes u already know a lot of these concepts so it invokes terms like permutation, cardinality, focus and stuff like that without even defining it. Overall a good and unique book

IT'S AMAZING
Dr. Joshi provides a clear environment of JEE problem formations, each word is important. The exercises are moderate to hard. This book will look like an alien language text to someone not interested and habituated with the theory and will cost a lot of time to someone who loves it.

U will actually "learn" the Math
It doest follow the conventional approach but that is what brings out the true essence of the book...u will learn Maths in its true spirit not rather problem solving tricks...however this book must be read only when u r familiar with basics(ncert 11th 12th)..calculus coverage is the best(be cautious it delves bit deep in calculus, so read with full attention).Hope it helped :)

Most Beautiful Book on mathematics, ever studied by me
The level of book is quite high . However, as we go through the book, we begin to sense the thought processes of IIT Paper setters.
