Mattel Games Mad Gab Mania DVD Game

I like this game, but if you're into quick play or play a lot, I'd suggest the non dvd version. The DVD animation and voice overs are slow and corny. I'd rather get the game going more quickly with more Mad Gabs and fewer score announcements. Also, the DVD doesn't keep track of used Mad Gabs so there are a lot of repeats, which aren't fun if you're playing with people who haven't seen them and you have. The buzzers are nice because you can play it from the couch, but make sure you follow the directions as they go when you program them, or else they'll get mixed up as to which buzzer is which.

I would have given this game 5 fun stars if both remotes worked. My kids actually played with it for a little while with only one working remote and enjoyed themselves. This is the second new game we've purchased, and both times the yellow remote didn't work. Customer service at Mattel sent us a new yellow remote free of charge and that remote didn't work either. I think we're going to have to stick with the card version of the game.

The original Mad Gab is awesome on it's own, but playing it on the television is even more fun. Highly recommend getting this product!!! Only drawback is the time needed to setup the controllers to the dvd player, and the lag time between the word transitions. Otherwise, this game is great to have and play at parties.

I should have listened to the other reviews... This game is great in theory. The remotes won't program to the DVD and so we are stuck with a game that won't work. I wouldn't waste my time or money on this one. The sad thing is, I know someone that has one that does work, and we searched and searched for it to buy for my sister because she wanted one so bad.

I don't know what everyone else's problem is but I had fun playing this game!!We had no problem getting the controllers to work, and even though it was a long time.The game was fun, and when played in a group, it was a blast. Even if the questions get repeated, you aren't always going to have the same people playing.I suggest buying this product if you want to expand your board game collection.

Our family has game night and we change who hosts the party. I purchased the Mad Gab DVD game and couldnt get the controllers to become compatible with the television. Both my sons, who are policemen and in their thirties also tried. We could get one to work and the nothing from the other. I ended up buying the old fashion card mad gab game. Which is a lot of fun.

The game was great. We really enjoyed playing it over the holidays. It was a fun family game.

This was a very disappointing Christmas gift for my daughter. We were able to return it, so we're happy with Amazon - but it's a bummer of a toy. The problem is that the controllers work so poorly - when you try to use them, you have to keep pressing the buttons over and over and over again to get the signal to register on the DVD player. A very frustrating experience. Not sure if something was wrong with our particular controllers, or if they all work that way.Another bad feature is that if your child wants to take the game to a friend's house - they have to spend 10 - 15 minutes reprogramming the controllers all over again to work on the friend's particular DVD player.
