Vital Nutrients Pro Dental Probiotic, 45 Mint Tablets

Like others who stumble across these thing randomly, I have serious doubts about things labeled "pro-biotics". I mean, how do you know what they are? What does that even mean? Are they like all the other bottles of things on shelves that claim to be the best source of XX and will help with XX and nothing but good for you? Is it a scam? Have there been any scientific studies with this product vs, I don't know, Crest toothpaste? I have no idea, but I doubt it. So why am I writing this? Because, for me, this stuff worked a miracle. I have no scientific data and can only offer my personal experience. I have always (like, for my entire adult life) been fighting infection on both sides at the back of my mouth. I had my wisdom teeth out a few years ago because it was just too hard to brush back there and the dentist figured that would help. It did a bit, but even after that it was still a daily occurence to see blood when I rinsed my mouth after brushing (and I use antiseptic mouthwash daily, too). I always have deep pockets in the back when the dentist does the 'depth probe' thing they do. Anyway, I bought a bottle of these a month ago on a whim. For the first week, I'd let the tablet it sit in my mouth as long as I could or grind it up and let it sit without swallowing. Didn't notice any changes. Then, one night I found the secret that works for me. After brushing, I take a tablet and break it in half with my teeth. Then tuck one half of it between the cheek and gums on the left side and one half on the right side - and then just go to sleep. Feels weird for a minute, but thats all. After a week of doing that - no more blood, no more pain when I brush! I changed nothing else, so I'm giving all the credit to the PRO-Dental stuff. I haven't been to the dentist since I started taking them, but I'm expecting to see an improvement in the pocket depths. I'm very impressed with this stuff so far. I'm on Amazon this morning to order more, and will update the review if things stop working. That said, I'm on Amazon right now to buy more of this stuff and figured I'd leave a review.

I purchased this probiotic after learning that our daughter might have a specific, genetic immunoglobulin deficiency that runs on her father's side of the family. This certain type of IG deficiency actually makes the mucous membranes (mouth, sinuses, gut tract, etc) less effective at fighting off bacteria and viruses. After doing much research I discovered that it's the S. salivarius K12 probiotic that helps the mucous membranes to defend agains bad bacteria. Hyperbiotics is the ONLY company I found that provides a probiotic aimed specifically for oral health (which has a big impact on gut health, which we all know has a HUGE impact on our overall health!). I give one of these oral probiotics to my daughter each morning after she's eaten breakfast and brushed her teeth. She sucks on it for a while (per the directions on the bottle) and then chews it when it's about half way dissolved (she's four; that's about the best I can do! HA!). When she gets stuffy or at the first signs of a cough I increase these to twice a day. We did, in fact, have our daughter tested for the immunoglobulin deficiency that runs in our family. Thankfully she does NOT have it. But that doesn't mean I'll stop giving these to her any time soon. She's four... She gets sick. It just HAPPENS. But between these and the amazing HYperbiotic Kids Probiotic Pearls I feel so much more confident when she does get ill. It's much more relieving as a mother to know that I am able to easily support her healthy immune system on a daily basis and then give her system that extra BOOST when she's ill. Thank you, Hyperbiotics, for producing something for everyone!!!

I am a firm believer in probiotics and in the general theory of their function in health and digestive balance. So it made sense that when I wanted to tackle some mouth and tonsil issues head on with everything available on the market, I decided to give this a try. In just over a week, I have noticed dramatic positive outcomes including less mouth dryness, tighter pink gums, an overall clean feeling that lasts well into the afternoon, less sinus and nasal drip, and no more tonsil stones. However, I should note that these probiotics were used in combination with a few other aggressive techniques so it is impossible to say whether the PRO-Dental is the main contributor or just working in tandem (or not working at all!). In any case, here is my new regimen that has worked wonders: 1. Started oil-pulling with Coconut oil in the AM for 20 minutes, followed by salt water rinse and gargle. 2. Wipe down tonsils with sterile Q-tip (which you can also purchase on Amazon for a reasonable price). VERY IMPORTANT that you only use sterile q-tips that are individually packed, otherwise you will introduce bacteria to your tonsils. 3. Reduced use of Listerine to only once per every 3 days to avoid over-killing good bacteria. Focus mainly on gargling as opposed to swishing since the oil pulling does a great job of taking care of the bacteria in the mouth (as opposed to the tonsils). 4. 1 week intense treatment with PRO-Dental (2 tablets every morning and night after all brushing/rinsing/pulling is done), followed by a taper to 1 tablet in the morning and night thereafter. The combination of the above techniques along with the standard brushing 2-3 times per day, flossing in morning and night has worked very well. Now for the downside: The price. At $25 a bottle and with no clinical data to prove its efficacy, buyer beware. If you are not cash strapped and are desperate to tackle mouth issues (i.e. tonsil stones), it's worth trying. Try it without the oil pulling and then with to determine the Pro-dental's effectiveness. Highly recommended for acute self-treatment, but I cannot see financially supporting continued use of this product in the long term.

I will say it does have a minty freshness AFTER you chew it. It say's you can only chew or dissolve the pill. I only chew it because dissolving it takes so long. Any way you decide to take it, it tastes horrible! It tastes like chalk when chewing/dissolving. The after taste is mint though like the bottle indicates. It does not say you can swallow it so I don't, I would have liked to know that before I bought this product. Not easy to swallow either if you are like me and hate chewing pills. After a while, you get used to the chalky taste. Does it work? I don''t think so. It's not a lasting freshness like I thought or it claims. It lasts for a few minutes. They are also sand paper textured if you chew them which hurts. Glad I tried it. Would I buy it again, no.

Taking a probiotic can really help with any odor and for sure help balance have the consistency to use daily. The taste wasn't bad. No digestion effects. Easy to take. Great ingredients.

I purchased this product in hopes it would contain both the K12 and M18 probiotic strains. I assumed the product’s images of the Supplement Facts would have all the information I needed to know about this supplement, as they always have in my case, but as it turns out, the images are outdated. Sort of a click-bait. Only the product’s description mentions the new probiotic strains. The new formulation contains 4 different strains, EXCLUDING K12 & M18. Although it did help my breath and plaque formation, it’s not exactly what I was looking for. Supposedly their Kid’s ENT formula still contains those strains, but I’ll be taking my chances with another product just to play it safe. Update (even worse): Adding to what I’ve said above; After a few weeks of using this probiotic, my gums started to itch/inflame, and my teeth shifted to a more yellow color. My brushing habits have stayed the same, 2x a day after flossing for a minimum of 2 mins. All negative effects subsided a few days after stopping the supplement. At first, I still had some faith in this supplement, even though the outdated product images did not reflect the removal of the K12 & M18 strains. My teeth were no longer developing a plaque biofilm, but my mouth & throat were itching like crazy, they felt raw, and my teeth shifted yellow. I’m assuming this is because even though these bacteria don’t produce a biofilm, they still produce a ton of acid that eats away at your mouth, although I’m not sure. Final verdict: Did not work for me, I recommend looking for another product.

i got this due to tonsil stones and foul breath. after almost 2 weeks on it I felt some pain today normally indicative of a tonsil stone I went to the bathroom sink and pressed the tonsil with my finger, I did have a stone but to my surprise the consistency was much different and it didnt have the usual foul odder that for years i have associated with tonsil stones. I will be buying this again. For those interested my method of use has been to take this about 15min after using Thera breath in the morning (thera breath knocks out the total bacteria count in the mouth) and instead of chewing I just kind of suck on it and occasionally gum it or press it by my tonsils until it dissolves (about 15 min). I usually have one 10 min after thera breath in the morning 1 with lunch and one before bed. Between the therabreath knocking everything out and this filling the space with more helpful bacteria than smelly bacteria ive noticed great results. I will update in a few weeks or months. but for now this is a life saver, and the combo of the mouthwash and this is making me think i might be able to avoid having my tonsils out. The other day I actually leaned in close to a girls face as i was teasing/flirting a bit and it added to the effect; for the last 5 years i wouldn't have dreamed of getting that close while talking. I've also quit smoking and cut back soda/suggar...YMMV but it appears there is hope if you makes some healthy changes and have a little help.

Just spent 70.00 USD on additional probiotics including Pro-Dental by Hyperbiotics. Please see my original review about Hyperbiotics and Dr. Mercola within the last 5 days. Please also review the book DIY Protein Bars by Jessica Stier I am a Medical Doctor with weight loss clinics in the Atlanta area. I am writing a book for our patients and I reviewed the medical literature on Probiotics and Prebiotics. After my review of the medical literature I have selected only 3 probiotics to recommend to my patients. I selected Hyperbiotics Pro 15 and Dr. Mercola’s Complete and Probiotics Pro-12 (my best medical friend is a Functional Medicine M.D. and she takes this probiotic). I selected and took Dr. Mercola’s Complete for 3 months, daily as my first trial. Since I am writing the book, I wanted to see the difference between products so I bought Hyperbiotics Advanced (15 billion CFU/tablet) on Amazon, to be my second trial. Within 1 day I saw a significantly better GI/weight response with Hyperbiotics Advanced. Again understand a test subject number of 1 means nothing. This may only be my personal response. Please don’t expect any result similar to mine. Remember I changed my gut bacteria over 3 months with Dr. Mercola’s Complete Probiotics. Despite an experiment with only 1 subject (me), I will recommend Hyperbiotics Advanced Pro-15 first to my patients and if the outcome is not what is wanted I will shift them to Probiotics Pro-12 or Dr. Mercola’s Complete formulation. I personally will only be purchasing Hyperbiotics Pro-15. I will test the effect of the 5 billion versus the 15 billion CFU tablets. My friend will be testing her probiotics Hyperbiotics Pro-15 Advanced versus Probiotics Pro-12. She has true Celiac disease, not just gluten–sensitivity. I would also suggest reading the very recently released book by Dr. Perlmutter, M.D. (May 2015) on Brain Maker if you are interested in probiotics. I read this book for my book.

It's a disappointing product. It's clearly mentioned that this product doesn't cure or heal. It really doesn't do that. Won't recommend. Please people don't buy it.
