Arrived promptly. Book in very good condition as promised.These are great songs, and this is a great resource not only to see how Mahler wrote for voice but to study his orchestration techniques around the soloist. So different than the large symphonies he wrote. These songs are very unique and yet you hear familiar themes in the instrumentation that reflects/mirrors the larger works. Great stuff.

This slim A4 size score sets out the staves clearly and sensibly. A useful touch is the appendation, in the footer small print, of the title of each song. This is so valuable when flicking through to recover your place or to identify a particular song.Translations are set out at the beginning and there is a glossary of German musical terms to guide the understanding of nuances of composition.The quality and ease of use is what you do expect when buying a Dover score. The price is right and the quality is right - and of course the music itself is ravishing.
