Very insightful and touches on some things I hadn't learned in everyday Sunday school.

Reading, edification and enriching

This is an excellent commentary on an early Christian scripture, from one of the several versions of early Christianity that is not as well known today. I have the Kindle version which has very helpful hyperlinks between the text and the footnotes, allowing convenient study of particular passages. As for the text itself, I find many of the metaphors compelling and useful, well worth the study for Christians interesting exploring their tradition outside of the narrow confines of 'the canon'.

So excited for this book, so close to all my collection of all lost books and perceptions. Easy to read, great perspectives

This is a wonderful book for anyone starting down the path of Christian Gnosticism. The author's technique of alternating pages with his commentary on one page and the secret text of John on the other (facing) page, is a great teaching method! I Love this book. It is the foundation of Christian Gnosticism, in my opinion. However, I would caution you, if you are just getting started on this path, This will probably be too much for you too fast. I suggest that you first read "Who Wrote the Gospels" and then proceed to read "The Five Gospels." That will help to get your mind it the right state for learning "The secret knowledge." To the right-wing, so called "born-agains" sadly, I would say, forget it! You will be lost in this Hell universe for many more incarnations. Your limited little minds will not be able to grasp these concepts or be able to venture outside of your rigid little belief system. ... but, who knows? Sometimes miracles do happen.

I order this book for a friend who wanted to uncover some additional information as she is on a quest of religious knowledge seeking. The book is great and she loved it.

I used this book for furthering my self knowledge in the area of who we really are and where we really came from.To me this book introduces one to the things happening before genesis in the bible beyond marcion of sinope.Of Jesus revieiling to one of his disciples John about the mysteries and thing hidden in silence.The mother,father and the only begotten son of the most high ,And all the powers that eminated from the father's mind ,down to the great upset of wisdom's creation the first ruler Yaldaboth and the archons rulers he created etc etc.It shows a picture of our creation and salvation from a different point of view.

I have wondered about the Gnostics and this author explains them quite well. Well enough that I no longer have the desire to learn more about them.
