Teeny Tiny Spice Co of Vermont Organic Jamaican Jerk, 2.8 Oz

I have loved jerk rub on food for years, however, my wife didn't really care for it until I bought this type. I'm amazed, she puts it on everything, from all types of meats and even pastas. This stuff is awesome! It seemed like it needed a little salt in the mix, so I added a teaspoon to the can and mixed it up, and it now suits our tastebuds perfectly. The more you put on, the hotter it gets and we both love it. Who would have thought that a spice company from Vermont could make a great jerk rub, but they do. We're looking forward to trying more of their spices.

After visiting Jamaica a couple years ago, I fell in love with jerk BBQ. In the last two years I have tried numerous spice rubs, sauces, and wet rubs to try and recreate what I had in Jamaica. While i've had some good products, this is my favorite dry rub. All the spices are in perfect balance, and nothing is too overpowering. I would consider this to be a little spicy. If you enjoy hot sauce like Tabasco, franks, or others, you will have no problem with this. You can always adjust the amount of spice you use to keep the heat down if desired. While the price might seem expensive, you actually get quite a bit of product compared to small glass jars you buy at the grocery store. In the end it's priced comparable to your grocery store spices, and you're supporting a small company who makes a quality product.

This is my third time buying this product. I bought the first for myself, second for a friend, and third to refill the one I consumed! It's a great spicy mix of herbs and spices. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but for those of us who like a little heat it's perfect. The balance between the spices and heat is exactly right- spicy but you can still taste all the wonderful island flavors. It goes well on pretty much everything, especially salmon, chicken, even an omelet. The packaging is good quality. I also have the Himalayan pink sea salt and the berbere, both of which are also delicious.

I love Teeny Tiny Spice Co. This Jerk seasoning is so yummy and so high vibe!!! I am so happy this co. exists! Very grateful for it! I make Jerk Chicken with this, buy some yummy cuban black beans from restaurant to add as a side and serve a mango green salad with it! So yum!! This is a staple in my meal rotations!

The tin is attractive but not functional and makes it easy to spill contents while opening. It does not have a screw top or a sifter. When I first tried to open it, I spilled some of the spice. The cap is a twist off and clunky. The jerk spice itself was too hot and did not have enough other flavors to truly remind me of any Jamaican Jerk dish I've had at any authentic restaurant' I will have to play around with it to see what I need to add to develop more "Jerk" flavor. I'm all for organic food and commend this brand for being organic but, improvements could be made.

I just started using this Jamaican Jerk from Teeny Tiny, and am already a big fan. I sprinkled it on my air dried kale and pumpkin seeds before popping them in the oven at 225 for 40 minutes to dry into "kale chips" and "pepitas," and they were fantastic and better than store bought (I usually use Teeny Tiny's West African, Ethiopian Berbere, or British Curry for my kale chips). I also put some in my tuna salad with some finely chopped shishito peppers, and really enjoyed it. This is a serious jerk with plenty of heat. I can't wait to try it on some fish.

My husband and I love this spice, if you are looking for authentic and spicy Jamaican seasoning, this will work for you. I ordered Advieh (persian spice) too and it is good as well. Currently Advieh is out and I hope it comes back soon! I like Teeny Tiny Spice's spice. They all taste very authentic!! Thank you Teeny Tiny Spice!

This is delicious and super versatile. I will be purchasing more spice mixes from this company. I have used this on fish and tofu, and both turned out delicious. Best way to use this - if you have time - is to food process onions and the mix and use this as a marinate of sort for fish or chicken or tofu. Then saute, bake, or cook however you want. Delicious!
