Very cleverly written
First of all, before I get started, this book among several others was my "go-to" book to study for my PANRE. Its been twenty-two years since I last was in the classroom, so this was a terrifying time for me to take a test like this again. I'm in orthopedic surgery as a PA, and so I seldom use all the primary care topics. That said, I passed!! Yessss! What I love about this book is that it divides up the subject matter in somewhat random order and it has plenty of test taking and prep strategies. I loved that! It felt so useful to use this book and when I took the test, there were many things that were on the exam, just as predicted! I would ABSOLUTELY get this book, and while I would probably recommend having one or two other books for "balance" I think that this book alone "could" serve one just fine by itself!

Probably the best review book out there
What I like about the book is that it is small, compact, and relatively light weight, which makes it easy to carry around. Also, the pages are white, clean, and ink friendly, which made the book a joy to work through.I went through the whole book once. The book is PACKED with information, which the author successfully organized in a way one would approach a patient in a clinical setting: pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment. Furthermore, the author thoroughly discusses the diseases and often compares and contrasts the clinical presentation and treatments of similar disease states. I felt that author's approach throughout the book really stressed critical thinking, as opposed to memorizing straight-up facts, as is common among popular review books. After I finished going through the whole book, I found myself referencing this book for information about a particular disease.

Great review, very solid study guide, but page numbers would be nice for Performance test
This is a very well formatted, solid review. It's easy to understand and builds on itself. The first part of the book is a 5 to me. It does have questions with great, detailed rationales. The last part of the book, the performance exam, only gives the answers though and refers you back to earlier questions in the review - it would be SO SO MUCH easier, to me, if it would give the page numbers instead. Like, if you miss one, instead of saying review the information on page 13, it will say 005 and you flip back looking for question number 005. I suppose in some ways that is more focused, but I read fast and would just prefer the page number.

Amazing!
Loving reading this book! The way it is organized by symptom is true to how patients will present. I feel this book is preparing me well for clinical rotations, to focus in on the true complaint of the patient, while pointing you in the correct direction and offering great explanations as to why!Highly recommend purchasing this book, it is organized in a different way from classic textbooks but in such a great way!

Amazing resource!
This book is amazing! It breaks down complicated topics into something easier to understand. The book also lumps together diagnosis with similar findings which is a great way to study. Highly recommend this book to PA students in didactic year as well as clinical year. Every time I open it, I learn something new and it sticks with me. It has been especially helpful on my internal medicine rotation!
