My son was able to get pretty far assembling the first gun himself. He didn't get all of the internal moving parts lined up just right, so we had to pull it apart and make adjustments. Luckily, the round toothpicks we already had from the grocery store were identical to those in the kit. Due to childhood impatience and the reassembly process, we broke and had to replace many of the toothpicks that came with the set. A few other items really helped: 1) the piece of wax was good for moving parts AND helped when there was just too much friction to easily push wooden cut-outs onto the toothpicks without breaking them, 2) a flat wooden ruler helped apply even pressure over a larger portion of the more delicate cut-outs during assembly, which also reduced breakage, and 3) a pair of bent needle-nose pliers helped with the removal/insertion of toothpicks, and could easily break off the ends of toothpicks, when needed. It took time and patience, but the set came together well by following the instructions. The guns consistently shoot the rubber bands straight and with good speed. My son loved how you could load up four rubber bands to get four shots off before having to reload. What a fun toy!

Gave this to my 12 yr. old neighbor for his birthday. He is really into building things & this gave him just the right amount of a challenge. They appear sturdy when completed so using them for the long run should not be a problem.

I bought these for my wife's little brothers for Christmas. One is 12, and the other is 17. It was pretty hard for the 12 year old, so I helped him a lot. It was perfect difficulty for the 17 year old. The building aspect itself is targeted for older children, but the idea of a rubber band gun is targeted for younger children, so keep that in mind as you look to purchase for kids, if they're younger you will probably want to help them a lot, as it involves using razor blades at certain points, and it can be easy to slice or stab your hands and fingers on the blade, or the sharp toothpicks that are used to hold these guns together.

Pretty simple to build. Make sure to sand any rough parts especially the moving parts. That white stuff in the rubber band bag is wax. Make sure you wax anything that moves. Also don't forget the 1mm spacing allong the barrel so the moving parts don't bind. Rubber band do not shoot fast enough to harm anyone.

I've had a great time building this. When I had to back track a little and ended up breaking a few parts, they didn't hesitate to be in communication and ask for certain part numbers. Next day got an email saying they've mailed them out! Great customer service. Anytime I want a new project, I will be ordering from them for sure.

Husband and 11 year old daughter had a great time putting this together and shoots the rubber bands a lot farther then we thought it would!

It definitely looked intriguing, but the actual product falls short. Some thin/small parts are prone to breaking when popping out it out of the wood frame, trigger sear did not want to release on the 9mm semi-auto clone, consistently had to force it to fire by lifting the hammer with my thumb. Whole thing is held together with toothpicks, difficult to cut them flush with either a box cutter (as shown in instructions) or diagonal cutters, so sanding is required, frame was too tight to accept magazine easily, but magazine release didn't have enough tension to hold the mag so it keeps dropping. Not enough tension on the rubber bands to have any accuracy at any distance greater than 4 ft.

Bought as a gift and they loved it. Very sturdy.

組み立てる時は接合用ピンの両サイドが爪楊枝の先端の様に成ってますので注意が必要かと思います。 組み立て後[ハンドガン1]のトリガー可動が不調でしたので一度バラして可動用輪ゴムを調整して組み直しましたが、 接合用ピンはそのまま再組立てで使用してもしっかり固定してくれます。 これなら可動用輪ゴムが劣化しても交換して遊べるかと思います。 ※再組立て時に[ハンドガン1]は可動部分の確保に1mmの隙間を開けて置く表記が在りましたのでスペース代わりにマットフォトペーパーをパーツ形状にカットして咬ませましたが可動は順調です。 以下は再購入したモノのレビューです。 良かったのでもう一組組立てましたが今回のは「ハンドガン1」の合板の厚みが少し厚く成ってました。 完成時のグリップ厚が29.5ｍｍ(前回購入品では26.4ｍｍ)の違いが在りました それが原因か切り離す時に小さなパーツが欠けたり割れたりしました(瞬間接着剤で補強済み) マガジンロックパーツの厚みが原因か固い状態に成ってしまいました。 以上の事からこの状態が初めての購入だと少し残念な感想に成るかと思います。 「ハンドガン2」に関しては今回購入分も問題無く切り離しと組立てられました。 参考までに
