Perfect, boot will adjust to your feet
I have had similar Minnetonka boots last couple years, they didn't have the ridges on the soles like these and were a size 10 which eventually started to fit like a size 14 lol. I prefer the flat sole on these because these soles make the shoe feel extremely narrow and off balance also twigs and things getting stuck under there, but everyone is different. These boots are extremely narrow in the sole, tight and uncomfortable. At first they have a strong scent. They are suede and will adjust to your feet very much like moccasins the Natives wore. My feet measure 10.5 inches long and are narrow so I went with a size 9 this time around(I usually wear a size 10). I am in the process of returning them for a size 10 in a flat sole style and in mens for that is all that is available (size 8 men's my preference). And yes my feet are in real pain with the 9s but I am positive the 10s will be easier for my feet to accustom to. The suede on these boots soften up with more wear. I hate them when they come out of the box but I have learned to love them as they form to my feet. They are supposed to fit tight at first but with enough space to adjust to your feet. Breaking them is simple, they become softer with wear and I never take them off especially in the spring summer and fall so that comes effortlessly. I live outside, these prevent my legs from getting attacked by prickers when hiking through them and tree sap. It's like wearing almost nothing on my feet and I DISLIKE SHOES A LOT so these are very helpful for protection and basically feeling the ground through the boots as I climb trees etc. They are great for every occasion so I am still fashionable even tho my days and nights are spent in the forest but when I have to dress up or go to a funeral they are still looking good. Sometimes with a little wipe down ;) I am really hoping the exchange goes smoothly and can't wait for my size 10, smooth soles to arrive. Pair these with a good water repellent spray inside and out and these boots are perfect for everyday even when you lose balance and fall into a swamp.

Best boots ever.
Beautiful. This is my third pair of Minnetonka boots. I have a brown pair, a tan pair and now these in black. In trainers I wear an 8 1/2 wide. In these boots I always order a size 10 and they fit perfect. I always get lots of compliments on them and they handle my foot swelling and shrinkage like a second skin. My first pair I got over ten years ago and they still look fabulous. Great for church, cosplay, rock concerts and everyday. Great value for the money. No smell I’ve ever noticed except the smell of leather.

Wonderful boots but tricky sizing
I fell in love with these boots the second I saw them online. After reading several reviews I decided to get a size 8 as I usually fall somewhere between an 8 to almost an 8 1/2. In person these boots are completely adorable and quality made. I've tried these in both an 8 & 9. The 8 is snug. Perhaps a bit more snug than I would prefer but the 9s are just too large. I decided to go with the 8s. With tights or thin socks they are actually pretty comfortable. However like other reviewers mentioned there is a spot in the back of the heel area that is a bit unpleasant and after walking in the boots for a few hours it does start to wear on you. I'm hoping that it will eventually break in and leave me with a wonderfully comfortable pair of boots. They do stain clothing and I imagine they will for a while till I break them in. Sadly I ruined a pair of tights but worth it all the same. For reference I am 5'7" these hit me just under my knee. If you are much shorter I don't imagine these will be very comfortable on you, as walking might be a bit odd due to their length. Others complained about these being difficult to lace up. PLEASE I had mine laced in less than 5 minutes, no problem. I completely recommend giving these boots a try keeping in mind the sizing is a bit strange and narrow. These go with just about anything!

If you’re a half-size, buy one size UP; no arch support
I had to have these! They’re just gorgeous and so retro. I love the style, and the leather is decent quality. I’m a 7.5 and I ordered a 7–big mistake, I also have bunions, so that made it even worse. Fortunately, with a lot of patience, a good cedar shoe stretcher, thick wool, socks, and some shoe stretching spray, I was able to get these to fit okay. They’re a bit loose in the heel, but I have very narrow heels too I noticed a few reviews mentioned that they are narrow in the calves. They probably are compared to a lot of boots but these are moccasins, not Frye boots. For me, with narrow calves, it’s a dream come true to find boots that fit nicely through the calves instead of looking and feeling too loose. But my calves are too often too narrow for most boots, so this part worked out well for me. Still, that narrow calf is another reason that most people are better off ordering UP a size, rather than down. Yes, they’re moccasins so they have no arch support at all. You can fix that by getting Dr. Scholls inserts. Other than that, I really do like these. They’re warm and I love the look. It just took a lot of nights leaving the shoe stretch insert inside with thick wool socks, but they’re wide enough now. The suede is good quality, and so is the stitching. I’m happy with these and I think the price is fair.

Love them!
So far, these boots have been everything I was expecting. I've been trying to wear minimalist style shoes and I spent the summer/fall wearing Soft Star mocs. With winter on the horizon, I knew I would need shoes that were warmer and that wouldn't take so long to dry if they got wet (my mocs take ~3 days because of the sheepskin lining). Having had a roommate with similar boots, I chose these. Having worn no shoes/moccasins for ~6 months, my toes have a spread out. Even so, the toe box of these boots is more than wide enough for me. The color matched the picture very closely and the sizing was perfect. They are absolutely comfortable. I had my doubts about the insole, and I'm still not sure I like it. It's nothing special, just extra cushioning. What I like least about it is the slight slipperiness. I sometimes feel my foot slide if I'm walking on inclines. I imagine it would be worse with socks, but I haven't tried yet. I was a little conscious of the nubbed sole for the first day, but I hardly notice it anymore. The sole is fairly thin and very flexible. The ground feel is definitely nowhere near that of my mocs but I still think that there is a good amount. I can easily tell what kind of surface I'm walking on, I can feel it when I step on objects, and I like the traction. The boots are definitely comfortable. Being a fencer, I have asymmetrically muscled legs, but these boots fit like a glove. I sprayed them with Camp Dry right out of the box and I highly recommend everyone do the same. I've been able to wear these boots out in a true downpour (thanks to Hurricane Sandy) and there was no moisture penetration except through the seams. I've heard of people lining their shoes with duct tape on the inside of the seams, but I'll wait until I see how they do in snow first. The seams are a little uncomfortable. I suspect that this is due to the unevenness of the seams because there are only two spots where I have problems and they don't happen on both boots. One is on the outer edge of my right foot, the seam pokes my foot just below the pinky toe. The seams are stiff and ridged because of the stitching so I'm hoping that with time the leather will soften. On the left boot - and I think someone else mentioned they had this happen - the back ankle seam rubs the back of my ankle when I walk. It wasn't enough to cause blistering, and I mention it only because I was able to come up with a solution. If this happens to you, you can put a little piece of duct tape on the boot where it rubs and it won't irritate the skin anymore - yay! The only negative thing I have to say is that not all of the lace holes were punched and not all of them were lined up. From a manufacturing perspective, they were right to punch the holes before assembling the boots, but they should have some kind of quality control to ensure the holes line up and that all the holes are punched. Anyways, it was easy to fix. Get yourself an exacto knife (the sharper, the better) and cut out little circles. Don't try to punch through (unless you have an awl); that's bad for the leather, it will be a pain to get your lace through, and you'll wear through your laces faster. One final thing - before buying these boots, I read a lot of reviews which said it takes 10+ minutes to get them on. Um, NO. Loosen the laces when you take them off and you will be able to easily slip them on the next time. I wear my jeans with these and it only takes me 1 minute, MAX, to slip these on and that's only because I'm picky about how the laces hang. There are a million +1 tips online about tucking jeans into your boots - read a couple and save yourself some time. Hope this helps! Happy shoe-picking!

Super cute boots! Details on sizing and color...
I usually wear an 8.5 (perfect fit, also 8.5 in Minnetonka brand moccasins) or 9 (if no half sizes), so I went ahead and ordered a size 9. The boots are a little on the larger/longer size compared to what I'd usually wear, but I think the 8 would be a tad too small. Feet kind of swell a little after long hikes too, and if I want to wear thick socks for the upcoming cold winter, then the 9 is just fine. These boots also keep your feet very toasty, despite not being lined with anything at all. I wanted to order the "brown" color but accidentally ordered "dusty brown", but I'm ok with the color. Dusty Brown has more grayish/colder hues to it compared to the Minnetonka-brand brown suede color which is definitely warmer. Both hues are great for autumn! And also, if you are planning on wearing these anywhere other than the inside of a building, do yourself a favor and protect the suede! Get a nice spray-on waterproofing sealer and maintain it every couple of months. Now having said that, I did use an entire can of spray on these boots plus my pair of moccasins.

Do not recommend
Normally do not do reviews but i bought these in November 2024 less then a year later and the string snaps and the seam has come apart I paid a lot of money for these boots I did not wear them a lot and I took very good care of them I have a $30 pair of moccasin boots that I have had for five plus years and I'm still wearing them they are worn out but they've held together better than the pair that I paid over $100 for I waited years to buy this pair of boots and I'm highly disappointed

Very nice!
I ordered a size 7 and they fit perfectly! Did slightly give blisters at first, but that's as excepted with breaking in any new shoe! I love them! Very comfy.

Bin begeistert!
