The I Hate Mathematics Book
This is a fabulous book for reluctant maths student aged 10 to 16. In fact you will enjoy reading it yourself; and also any adults who think they 'hate mathematics'. It has lots of great activities but best of all is the section with very clever jokes and riddles, all then explaining how they are related to maths. This book really does make maths fun.

Quirky and interesting, rather than brilliant
Written in Burns' trademark witty style, this book contains excellent illustrations and some fascinating maths. But it is nowhere near as good as her Math for Smarty Pants, which covers similar ground but with much more content. Buy that one first.

For kids who hate math--a way to make math fun
I got this when my kid was young, since he had a teacher who made him hate math. This book make math fun and helped take some of the discomfort out of my son. It's a fun book for kids and adults who like math also.

Still EXCELLENT, after all these years!
I loved this book as a kid, and was thrilled to see that it was still in print recently. Bought a copy for my children, and now they love it, too. An EXCELLENT book for all ages!

A Math Lover
This is a great book for math haters or math lovers. There are lots of interesting facts, games, and riddles, whether you think you are great or think you are terrible at math. If you hate math, this book can change your life. We have a copy of this book at home, and I've purchased this book to give to some of my children's friends and some home-schooling parents I know. I think giving this book to anyone who is afraid of math, whatever their age, is a great idea. I also highly recommend "Math for Smarty Pants", also by Marilyn Burns.

Fantastic book for kids who can add
Fantastic book for kids who can add, subtract, multiply and divide - and want to have fun with math. I frequently recommend this book to Moms (and Dads) who are struggling with developmental math if they have kids or younger siblings, and say the book is for the kids - but, they need to help the kids work through the book. That way the adult who is afraid of math can also see that math can be fun!
