I was really happy with this heated mats. I was a bit dubious initially because Amazon has a thing saying "frequently returned item," but they worked perfectly. Two 100% success rate seed trays of veg & flowers. Well, apart from one bean which doesn't know which way up it wants to be yet.Very easy to use, just plug in & place your seed pots or tray on top. I kept them on the floor by the patio window. Excellent value, totally waterproof, no watery/electric problems (which I was initially concerned about) - they're a sealed unit so unless damaged, water can't get in.

Have just used the mat for courgette/tomato seeds and they all germinated in 3 days. It doesn't use a lot of electricity. I used the mat briefly last year and it has been in a cupboard for a year since then until this week - it is still fully functioning.

Nice warmth from the mat, controls a bit tricky and not sure if the thermostat is doing its thing but for the money, yeah, alright...

Big enough to sit 3 small seed trays and easy to set up. Comes with clear instructions inc how to set to Celsius. Seeds I sowed 7 days ago are germinating after 2 days on the mat, possibly as might expect but I think it has given them a little boost.

Game changer, love these. I bought a bundle of two and they fit 10 of the small trays on across the two. Seeds are up in a week. Even temperature. Wish I’d purchased them sooner.

I should think that this would be fine for raising seedlings in a small propagation container. I can’t see any problem with this but I thought I’d give it a chance to see if it would be good enough to rise my bread dough.Unfortunately for this purpose it is not suitable as the temperature is way too high for this. Dough, especially sourdough needs a temperature of around 23 to 28 with 25c being a good number to aim for. My kitchen gets quite cool at night, down to around 18c so I need something to keep my sourdough at a better temperature. This may however puts the temperature up to around 40 degrees Centigrade or 104 Fahrenheit. It’s certainly fine for regular yeast and if you want a quick loaf but for sourdough it’s not going to give enough time to allow the sourdough to develop the gluten and it will overproof and ruin the sourdough.To get around this and to make it a usable proposition, I have placed a large glass container on the mat first, then placed my sourdough into it in another bowl that fits. This then takes the temperature of the dough to around 25-27c so can be used like this. Cheap way considering the low cost of this mat, although I would prefer a more approachable way with an adjustable temperature controller.So - fine for seeds. Not too good for dough.

Worked as intended and heated up quickly but unfortunately I returned it due to it not being big enough for me, but if you only have a handful of plants then this would work perfectly! The item is made of good strong material and is very easy to use. I got a bit of water on it but it seems to be waterproof.
