Are the blocks a solid piece of plastic or are they hollow and made of two pieces that can come apart?

Are these shapes compatible with the tangrams also sold by learning resources? Are they of similar size and the same thickness?

I ordered both the Learning Reources Tangrams and these Pattern Blocks to try with Saxon Math. The tangrams were the wrong scale to use with Saxon Math, but this set works perfectly for the Saxon worksheets. I also found free printables at TeachersPayTeachers that were perfectly sized to use with these.

Are these compatible with pattern block activity cards?
