Accepts all 10 Car protocols PLUS CAN-Bus (Works with ALL cars)
I replaced my old OBDII unit, because when I would read the codes on my 2005 Lexus ES300 (P40002, P0004 and P0006 codes), upon clearing the codes, I would find that my SRS lost it's calibration and my car computer would think it was in the middle of a "roll-over" and would turn off the Anti-lock brakes and traction control. This meant that I had to re-calibrate the SRS every time I read the codes. My old meter read the codes, and hinted at the problem - which meant hours looking for a vacuum leak. All told - hours wasted and lots of frustration. So, I got this little gem. It read the same codes, as expected - and then SUGGESTED some easy fixes. Guess what? An $8 replacement gas cap fixed my problem. And, because this meter reset the codes and is compatible with CAN-Bus, it didnt' screw up my SRS and ABS system after reading the codes. It does so much more than my old meter! And another plus. If you are like me; you buy this, and generally only use it a couple of times a year. And, likely have batteries that get left there to rot, and hopefully they are replaced before they leak. This requires NO batteries. That's right - it just taps into the vehicle's battery and takes what little power it needs to run the CPU from the car - so you can store it indefinitely without worrying that the battery will leak acid and destroy the unit. It boots up in about 10 seconds, and autel has firmware updates online so you can keep it updated. You will need WindowsXP or newer. I had no issues with Win10. Update was easy and pretty fool-proof. Included software also allows you to capture screen-shots to review on your PC (again, Windows only - not Mac - I couldn't get Parallels to play with this on my Mac running El Capitan). So - as far as I can confirm - you will need a PC running WindowsXP or later. I also had no issues getting this to connect to my 2003 Toyota Tacoma - so it works perfectly with "older" vehicles too. It connected with my vehicles flawlessly, every time. BTW - I updated to the latest firmware on the autel website upon receiving the unit. Again, to be clear - it's straightforward, the download is relatively small, the update takes less than a minute and I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Good scanner with easy to use interface and codes STORED in the device for easy lookup
Have to smog a vehicle (its been a while since I've done that) and my Bluetooth adapter finally died. I was looking for a complete all in one so I didn't have to link it up and mess with the adapter, this scanned both vehicles and quickly connected to live data and IM's readiness. The user interface is really slick, and easy to read on the color screen. I remember when this level of functionality was way pricier! Didn't even have to look at the manual or look up codes they had a little help menu with each meaning right on the screen at the touch of a button, O2 wasn't ready (IM's) and found a dead clutch pedal switch, easy part swap and easy to see that the O2 was responding appropriately via live data graphs. I was able to read up on how to set it and with a little driving from the manual it set everything and the switch replacement worked as well. Now the car is all ready to go in. The interface is super easy and it picked up a few other things reported that didn't show on a cheep-o scanner. I was able to get all readiness codes set and verified and all the other things fixed up with out wasting a trip. Its a little pricy for the feature set, but they seem to have done a good job with this one, so I'd say just for the easy of use / navigation, and stored lookups and help, this was a good grab and go tool. For a basic scanner it helped for my use case so if that's all you need this one made it way easier. Graphing data was a huge plus! Graphs are a little slow but perfectly good enough for a handheld tool (look its not a Textronics scope here). I was able to capture O2 stream data and changes reasonably quickly with a good sample rate, that I could verify it was in spec and wasn't having to guess. It graphs most PID's smoothly on the ODBII port. If you need some other feature sets you'll probably pay more, but this was worth it for just being easy to see, ready, and troubleshoot with out looking up anything in a tiny booklet or having to go in and google. Autel FTW!

Autel AL519 does what it say it will
I had never used an OBDII scanner before, but decided to get one when a co-worker pulled his out of his car and plugged it into my van to see what was wrong when I had some mis-firing going on. I purchased both this wired unit and a wireless unit, the ieGeek® WIFI Wireless OBD2 Auto Scanner Adapter Scan Tool for iPhone iPad iPod. Both work well, but the wireless version has the added benefit of being able to monitor engine functions LIVE, so if something intermittent is going on, you have a better chance to spot it if it is not leaving the MIL codes. The Autel AL519 will display live sensor data as well, but there is a cable in the way and I already have a nice dashboard mount for my iPhone. To make the ieGeek WiFi Wireless work, I purchased a $5.95 app at the iTunes App Store, so the real price of the wireless model is about $35. Since I am new to this OBDII scanner stuff, the Autel AL519 might have important features I have not tried yet that make it a better overall choice, but for the amateur like me, I think the wireless devices make more sense. I also purchased a BlueDriver ODBII wireless scanner, but it was more expensive and even though it came with a free iPhone and Android app, doesn't seem any better than the ieGeek version. The BlueDriver is more compact and easier to leave plugged in all the time, but for the price difference you really need those features to make it worthwhile. I plan to leave one device in each of our families 3 cars, so they are readily available when needed.

Way better than expected!
I've used this on 6 different cars in a week's time and can't complain. The display is bright and legible, controls are self explanatory if you've used a scanner before, and the quality is obvious once you unzip the case. I'd say it was money well spent since I've wanted for a while. Of the 6 cars I used this with, all codes were found (a lot more than expected) and easily taken care of before clearing. I did read the manual before using it in case you're wondering. It does give detailed information on all the vehicle modules it links to while scanning. The rest is mainly a beginner intro on use. It reads the codes and gives a good description of the probable fault. I read a review where they thought the case felt like cheap plastic and can't disagree more. The outer "sleeve" is a little loose to absorb impact in a fall. I tested this inadvertently...lol. It survived without a scuff. The zippered nylon case adds another layer of protection when not in use. It also has a Velcro pouch inside for the OBD-II interface cable, software CD, and USB to mini USB cable. I would highly recommend this over any scanner you can pick up at the local parts store. You're not going to get a color display that large at this price point!

Very Happy With This Product - Saved money, time and frustration
I am not a mechanic by any means (actually I'm a critical care nurse) but I am very mechanically minded, so I am able to fix many of the problems that plague older vehicles as long as I have the tools available. I have been chasing a misfire situation on my 2006 F150 with the 5.4 V8. It has been very annoying and has truly affected the performance of the vehicle to tow heavy trailers or even to comfortably drive without the truck feeling like it's going to stumble and fall on its face. I took the truck to the shop and was told that they really couldn't do much without a check engine light. I was resounded to spending a large chunk of cash to change all 8 plugs (which only have 20k miles on them) and all 8 coil packs. Not an expenditure that I really wanted to take on. I did some research and learned about the Mode 6 data that would show the no code misfires and pulled the trigger on Autolink OBD scanner. I figured that the $60 price tag would either really pay for it self or would just be lumped in with all the other stupid tax that I've paid throughout life. After hooking the AL519 to the truck and taking a drive to allow the machine to track the performance of the motor, I was able to easily dial down to each individual cylinder to see where my problem resided to start the troubleshooting process with some diagnostic info in hand. After changing three coil packs my problems are fixed. The truck runs good again and no longer feels like it is struggling to get up an incline without having to hammer the gas. This little OBD scanner saved me from peeling off a lot of extra cash for the plugs, additional coil packs and probably some shop time to fix those #@&$% spark plugs that Ford uses that love to break off in this motor design.

Reads codes on our '14 MB G550 & '15 Honda Fit (Lexus too!!)
Exactly what I needed to read the codes from our '14 MB G550 and '15 Honda Fit. Tested and the tool communicated with both of these vehicles. Haven't had any issues, but made this purchase to diagnose my cousin's '10 Lexus RX350. It found the fault code and interpreted the fix. Replaced the O2 sensor, cleared the code and all is back to normal. This Autel 519 cost $65. The replacement part (Denso 234-4509 Oxygen Sensor) was $72. My cousin bought the part and split the cost of the Scan Tool. He saved $340 vs. going to the dealer (Lexus labor rate in our area is $125/hr.). They quoted him $450 for parts and labor. Took both of us about 3 hours to do this install plus clean the engine bay, change oil/filter, rotate tires, change the cabin filter, replace the front brake pads and bleed the brakes!!! Although my labor was FREE, we enjoyed the rest of the day chugging down a couple 6-packs of my favorite lite beer!!!! Seller shipped from TX. as indicated on the listing. Although Prime not mentioned, it arrived in two days! The AL519 is a few more dollars than Autel's other models, but they won't do the enhanced Mode6 which most new Euro cars now have. Am liking the color-screen and the "beep" function when buttons are depressed.. Gives that "professional" feel when performing diagnostics. Length of the supplied cable is more than enough to comfortably reach from any OBDII port to the driver's seat. As with most scanners, operation is similar: without turning over the engine, turn the key to "start" position (or push "start-button" to start mode w/out stepping on the brake) and the Autel starts communicating with the vehicle's CPU once the corresponding button is pressed from the menu!!! Described as "used-like new". Nevertheless, it came with the original box, instruction manual, storage bag and accompanying cables (2). IMO, this is a new item! The original screen protector still was on the unit. No marks anywhere. It's as if no one even touched it. I highly recommended YIT-BathroomOutlet as one of Amazon's trusted sellers. UPDATE: Installed LED DRL's for the 2015 Honda Fit and initially used the factory DRL fuse junction (#25). That made all the lights go on and shut down the instrument cluster. The Autel stored the codes and showed U0155 (Lost communication w/ instrument panel Cluster). Erased the code and re-scanned. No more codes and all the yellow warning lights are off. What a time-saver this tool is, plus, saved $'s from going to the dealer to have it diagnosed. UPDATE 2: Just diagnosed our nephew's 2002 MBenz C240 Wagon. It had a check engine light on. Cause faulty gas cap!!!!

Great scan tool and amazing price
Very amazing scan tool. i use it do a few cars told the right problem help with not having guess your problem and also great to reset and live feed to see what cause problem to your car. i use this one on 328i 98 bmw, 2009 Toyota camery that was my family member car who came in to town the car had gave her problems while she was here visiting and with this tool find out all she needed was to reset the system that was 4 months ago and still no problems. way better than being stuck anywhere. just make sure your car or cars have the usb plug under steering wheel 96 and newer. Over all great product tell pending code (like if somethings is going bad) to store code ( a problem that has happen and that need to be changed) also good if you do work on you car to delete the codes after to see if code is fix. only bad thing is that it don't use battery so you have plug it in before coming on but does hold data if you have check later.

Estable y util
FUNCIONA PERFECTAMENTE. POR SI OS SIRVE DE AYUDA LO HE PROBADO EN HONDA CIVIC 1.6vtec, BMW 520d, KIA OPTIMA CRDI Y CHEVROLET AVEO 1.2LS, GENIAL.
