Noico 80 mil (2 mm) has a working temperature from - 49 degrees to 212 degrees F with allowance for short term heating of up to 392 degrees F. Thus, it is surely can not be installed into engine compartment due to its temperature restrictions. The other thing is that Noico 80 mil is more of sound deadening rather than a thermal insulation so you might want to look for specially designated heat shield material if you after reducing the heat.

This product works best with metal panels such as those on cars and vans. Suggest you look into sound proofing products related to the building industry. Windows and doors are likely to transfer much of the sound hence look into glass thickness, double or triple glazing and any gaps due to ill fitting frames.
