Great Infrared Starter Filter
This is a nice starter filter for infrared photography. I am a fan of the Cokin P series anyway and have other filters for it and the P007 is my newest addition. It performs great. Easy to mount and use - I would definitely recommend.

It works - unmodified nikon d750
I've used only Cokin filters for 38 years. The reason I took off a star was I thought they reduced their quality unless this is an aftermarket even though it is marked Cokin/France. Light as a feather, plastic frame and plastic filter. I have an oval polarized filter that is metal and glass. It also came in a soft envelope with the filter in a paper pouch without a filter case and delivered - folded up in my mail box. Could have been easily destroyed and I need to find a case so I can fit it in my camera bag. I only took a few test shots in the wind and need to practice with my channel swapping so I have not verified the clarity yet but so far so good.

Works well
It does exactly what I expected of it. It is especially good because it fits flush in the holder and doesn't let light round the back of it.

product has imperfections in the plastic. with a Hi intensity light you can see ripples and bubbles. I think I will stick with IR film and the old way of using a ND8 at f16

Five Stars
Excellent filter, works better than expected as long as you know how to use it.

Fun but collects lint and dust
I purchased this filter from another site, but found it is a lot of fun to use. I did notice that it will leak light unless I drape a cloth along the top of the filter holder and cover the view finder with my hand. It also is a dust and lint magnet. I have not yet figured out how to get it to let go of the static cling. But it makes nice effects and I enjoy photographing with it.

Not good with Canon EOS 30D
I like Cokin filters and use them quite a lot. I think the quality is good and also like the fact that I can use them on multiple lenses with different filter diameters by changing only an adapter ring. The issue I have with this filter is more a function of the design of my camera (Canon EOS 30D). This camera has an Infrared cut-out filter that is intended to improve color rendition in the visible spectrum. This filter works well for this, but it makes infrared photography mostly useless. When using this filter it is necessary to take very long exposures, even in bright light (30 seconds or more). This makes it impossible to take photos of people and this also introduces a lot of noise in the image. Also, every image produced has a very strong, deep red color-cast as if I used an ordinary red filter. I would like to use this filter and get some interesting false color images, but it appears this is not possible.
