They are very generous with the amount of gel filling, so there is a lot of thermal mass allowing you to ice joints for extended periods without it getting warm. One of the things I like most is the pliability of the ice pack even when it is straight out of the freezer. It remains very soft at all temperatures, so it is easy to bend and shift the filling material around when needed. Finally, it is absolutely perfect for knees, as the tri-fold design allows it to wrap around and make contact with the entire lateral, medial, and anterior parts of the knee even while you are sitting with the knee bent at a 90-degree angle. I highly recommend this product. Review: Underrated hero - I'll be honest, I almost didn't buy this because it doesn't look like a normal ice pack. That said it has become one of the most cost-efficient and effective ones I own. It also stays cold the longest and is able to target my pain areas, especially in my shoulder. I don't even need anything to hold it there just sits wrapped in a pillowcase because it's the perfect size it stays put.
