Introducing Biblical Hebrew

Excellent Resource
If you seek to learn Biblical Hebrew this is an excellent resource. The chapters are set in a very logical frame one step at a time. The production of the book is top grade, the type styles and printing are very readable. At this time I am still in the beginning chapters. As a result I can't comment on the more advanced sections. However, the journey is great so far.

Dr. Ross has done a masterful job in presenting ...
Dr. Ross has done a masterful job in presenting Biblical Hebrew for the beginner. I prefer his approach to Pratico and Van Pelt.

Seminary Books
As a seminary student, I need to use many books to effectively understand the subject matter. I had difficulty with the CD and the lectures. The book was very helpful in tying the subject together by bridging more effectively the simpler things that were omitted. I found it to be of great importance and now use it at our church to help other beginners step into a world so important to who we are.

I bought this book (which I was VERY glad to find)
Dr. Ross was my Hebrew professor; and I used this in pre-publication form. No longer having that format, I bought this book (which I was VERY glad to find). I still like this a lot. I have need to not only "review" my Hebrew, but to re-learn it. This does not reflect on the quality of the book, but more on my ability with Hebrew. Even though I greatly appreciate and respect Dr. Ross, I must say I have found Practico a bit better for self-study. However, you cannot go wrong with Ross. I highly recommend it, but rated it w/ only 4 stars, since Practico "may" be a bit better. But only a bit; just trying to be fair and honest. I like Ross a lot, but I must also say you can find Practico online for free. At least you my be able to find it. It seems it may have been removed. Weingreen -- the former standard -- is still available, but is not as good -- in my opinion -- as either Ross or Practico. But free is always good *smile*. Waltke is also online (again, at least it was). I hope this helps! And good luck in your studies.

can't understand the pronunciation marks.
this is the required book for the hebrew course I'm taking. it's probably excellent, but I'm two weeks into the course and I still don't have a key to the pronunciation symbols the author uses.

Very good
Very didactic, I have been going through the book for about three weeks and it's been fluid, although it doesn't suffice for a self didactic study
