Good Value
The GE water filter works as well as replacement equipment from the manufacturer and at much less cost. It looks the same, installs easily and works just as well as original equipment. I recommend this product and I will continue to purchase it from the seller instead of paying a much higher price from the GE seller.

Difficult to remove
I had previously bought this brand because it was 1/2 the price of a GE filter. Well, the time came to replace it, and I found I couldn't remove the old one. I never had issues removing the GE branded filters, so after this one I'm going back to the OEM filter.

Excellent replacement filter
Easy to install, better water flow than the GE brand, great tasting water, all at an excellent price. What's not to like?!!

Fast and easy installation, unfortunately didn't work out
Update:Aug.23.20, I have been putting off giving a new update on hopes that the filter would taste better after this time taking 3 gallons worth of water, (I used a 1gal water jug to measure) and not have the sediment that I've noticed in the past after putting water in a stove pot to boil, which hadn't happened before with bottle water. The verdict is better water quality than before, just not the kind of water quality that is expect from a refrigerator water filter, still with a few bits of sentiment left after boiling water. So it's a thumbs down for me. ๐๐ (For reference, I had an original GE filter installed).Original:Received water filter in the middle of June 2020. After installing, I took about 1-2 gallons out worth of water. Though it still wasn't tasting great like purified water, I took another 1 qrt of water out. Ice maker worked fine, but still the water has a semi tap water taste, although taste better than tap water. I was able to see some type of micro scopic sediment. (It could have been tiny bubbles circulating?) Last night I decided that I would stick to using the fridge filter water only for heating on the stovetop for tea or coffee. After heating the water on the stove and pouring out the water from the pot, I noticed that the bottom of the pot was dusty (after about 30min). I started thinking why this has happened? I remember washing the pot clean in the kitchen sink before preparing for tea, so I knew that it wasn't caused by a dirty stove pot. The only culprit had to be the water from the filter. Needless to say, I'm pretty disappointed. I was gonna try and contact the seller, but I believe I'm past the return date as well. (Sigh)

Seems to be the exact match to the factory part
It is not an original equipment part made by GE, but it seems to work exactly like the GE factory filter.

Genuine GE filter is better and cheaper.
So the genuine GE GSWF I just ordered treats 750 gallons and cost 25.61 (Amazon's listing says 300 gallons but it's wrong. Read the label in the product photo - says 750, and my old one says 750 gallons). This Chinese knock-off is $20 for one filter, but a three pack is $29. However, these filters are only good for 200 gallons (that's what the instructions in the box said, even though Amazon's description says 300 gallons. Once again, Amazon listing is wrong). So you can pay $30 for 600 gallons or $25.61 for 750 gallons. Your choice. I also do not think the mounting design of these is as good as the genuine GE filter. As far as filtering the water, I had to draw off a lot more water with this filter until I got a glass without stuff swirling around in it than I normally do with the GE filter. So there you go. I'll be buying the GE filters from now on.
