So far, so good, just not with the wide range
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I bought this after desperation with a little bit of hesitation. About a little over two weeks ago, we heard scratching on the side of the house and thought it was just an animal on the roof. My house is a cape code and I no access to the space between the ceiling and the roof. A couple nights went by until we scurrying along the outer wall on the ceiling. Initially, I thought it was something running on the gutters or even the roof as the roof is more flat than sloped, but after a couple of nights, the sound of the animal's nails was too loud to be something on top of the ceiling. We surveyed around the house to see if we can spot any breach through the sides of the house for an animal opening and didn't see anything. One night when it was raining, the scurrying was so loud that I took my stethoscope and started to listen--sure enough, there was something in between the sheetrock and the roof.We brought out contractors who specialize in pest control to see what can be done but they said that since there's no opening, the best they can do is set a trap and see what something gets caught. One of the contractors mentioned mouse and I almost flipped my sh** because I am allergic to mice. Since the sound of the animal nails sounds so heavy, it's kind of hard to believe that it's a mouse, but we did have a field mouse in our detached garage so anything is possible...A week went by without any sleep (I'm a very light sleeper) and I bought this device out of desperation. For $25, why not? I'd end up spending over $700 with the contractors to set up traps and treat and repair any damages. So for the first night using this, I put it resting on a framed artwork that hands on the side of my bed against the wall that the animal runs along on the ceiling (it's weird because they run in the exact same area between some frames, never further into the ceiling). The sound of this device is annoying, I have to admit and I wish that it was completely silent. My dog was originally scared of it, but he started to ignore it the more I kept it on, so I am assuming that he's unphased by it. The first night, I didn't hear any scurrying. Which made me excited, I could finally sleep. Two days went by and no scurrying on the roof/ceiling. One night, we were in the living room (completely separate side of the house, and is in addition to the house), and we heard scurrying along the wall again (like they were in the gutter or something). We went upstairs to the room above the living room to see if we could see anything and we came up short. Perhaps this animal is running between the floorboard? We took the device and put it in the room above the living room. That same night, the scurrying in my bedroom ceiling came back. So this guarantee of covering 6000 sq ft is completely false. I tried to take a video of the sound of the scurrying in the ceiling and when I played back the video, I could hear the frequency of the device through the audio (unheard to my ears). After that night, I placed the device back in my bedroom and haven't heard the noises. If this actually worked, then I will need to purchase three more (one for the room above the living room, one for the first floor, and one for the basement.) Granted, I do not want to purchase so many devices to keep animals out, but if this is the only guard I have at the moment to keep me from bursting into allergic asthma attacks and hives. In the meantime, I'm going to keep going through contractors to see what can be done otherwise, but the device seems to do its job for the moment--it just doesn't cover the square footer as indicated, hence the 4 stars. I am really hoping that this drives the critters out--my worst fear is having them chew through electrical wires.EDIT: added photo (the white ceiling along the edge of the wall is where they like to scurry along) and video (excuse the humming, that's an air filter that I have running to drown the clicking from the device).

Absolutely brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant. I had a basement apartment full of all kinds of bugs, I actually purchased 3 of these and placed them on the floors in 3 rooms, Thank God. I can sleep at night without the unwelcome critters that had taken over the place. For the 1st week or more they were still coming in, but dying mid stream, now I never even see them.. fantastic products, I highly highly recommend. I will get a couple more for up stairs before spring.

I plugged this device in and at first it seemed like the opposite of the desired effect about 4 crickets appeared in my room and they drove me insane over night. Ended up sleeping in the living room. However, after I took care of them, I haven't heard but one cricket so I guess it works?

So, so...
Not that happy. It takes way longer that three days before the ants stop coming. Then I started seeing the ants about 16 feet away from the pestinator. I am still seeing an occasional ant near the pestinator. After 3 weeks or so, I think I need to call an exterminator. In summary, it may help a little with ants. I have not seen any other pests. That is why I scored it 3 stars.

Disappointing & too late to return.
Blinky / Flashy lights. Neither mice, squirrels, nor raccoons pay any attention. They must think it's an ultrasound Disco machine. Very disappointing & too late to return.

very happy with this result
Have had this for a while and no sign of any mouse, rat, or insect into the garage. Very, very happy with this result. Beats traps completely !!

Not friendly to all cats
My siamese cat is very bothered by this unit so it is not working out in the garage rather than inside. I got the plug ins for inside which seem not to bother him. My other cat was not bothered by it.

directional, works for sure in a small area and needs to be pointed at where the mice are coming from, but works well for that small space
