Frank Dux has spent most his life being trained by Tanaka to participate in the Kumite, the ultimate martial arts tournament, where participants are seriously injured, even killed. Frank decides to go despite being told by his superiors in the army that he can't because they need him. Two army officers are sent to get him and the trail leads to Hong Kong but Frank eludes them. While Frank advances, he knows that he may have to face Chong Li, the defending champion, who has killed a few participants.

Bloodsport ini't - full of nostalgia (for certain generations) and the beginning of an era.Fun, classic, cheese, ridiculous, bad editing, but those iconic brilliant moments will forever keep it alive for the next generation(s) to come.

Iconic martial arts classic that is easily up there with Enter the Dragon, Best of the Best, and Karate Kid. First film ever bought for me on VHS as a birthday present. Nearly 30 years I'm still coming back for it! The whole story may indeed be a complete fantasy (look it up on YouTube!) from a compulsive liar, but with such an iconic piece of movie making who cares! From the Tanaka house flashbacks and Ninjitsu training scenes, to the montages in Hong Kong and Kumite scenes, this film never gets old. Free Hong Kong!

Brilliant movie
This without doubt is Jean Claude Van Damme's best martial arts movie and one of my favorite movies This is a import from Holland but plays in english Good value Went for dvd as Blu Ray is very hard to get hold of The picture and sound are very good anyway

What film haven’t I seen of Claude van Damme he is brilliant in all his films but I really enjoyed Blood Sport plenty of action and martial arts.Recommend it.
