Great mouse, however some vendors appear to be shipping used products as new ones...
Mine first mouse was shipped fast, but the scroll wheel does not work even after downloading the latest firmware and software from the website.I've contacted support and am waiting a response."response was to try the mouse on another PC which I do not have"I requested a replacement from Amazon to which they sent one the next business day. The replacement one had additional seals and packaging that were missing from the first delivered product. The second one has a working scroll wheel with resistance that can be felt when scrolling to which the first one did not. It would appear the first mouse sent to me was a used product and not a new product.I am sending it back via Amazon's replacement guarantee. The mouse itself has an adjustable palm rest which fits larger hands more comfortably. The button placement for the "forward" and "back" browsing buttons have these raised bumps to help you place your thumb accordingly. The so called pinky button is hard to use if you attempt to use your pinky, it works better as a ring finger button. There is a designated precision thumb button that works well for FPS shooters when you have sensitivity up for firing from the hip and need a lower sensitivity for zoomed in sniping. All in all besides the minor set back in the shipping vendors the mouse works well.

Excellent gaming mouse
I have been using this mouse daily for MMOs and normal computer use since I ordered it nearly two years ago. It has gotten some serious heavy use, and all buttons and the scroll wheel work just fine. I had previously used a Razer Naga for the same amount of use, but that began sending multiple signals from one click after a few months and broke after about 1 year. Comparing the two, I prefer this mouse. The side buttons took some getting used to since it's not the usual 3x4 grid for this sort of gaming mouse. That said, the layout is much easier to reach and without straining my thumb or having to awkwardly position the mouse. It took a few days of playing to really get used to that, but it's been no problem since. The mouse comes with a program to set up keybinds if you need it, but a particular game may work well with one setup over another. I rarely use the number pad on my keyboard, so I actually programmed the side buttons to the number pad keys. This made it a lot easier to configure keybinds in games that don't have mods or addons, without having to mess with a bunch of profiles. No one else uses my computer, but I expect the profiles would be useful in that situation. One other review mentioned that the side buttons are somewhat slow to click, and I agree. However, I would say the same thing about the Naga I had used. (No idea if that is still the case with newer models.) The side buttons have a much more deliberate feel to them, which is good for some games and not for others. That's actually been somewhat useful for me since I program commands I would spam to the top 4 buttons and mousewheel, while longer cooldown abilities or items are on the thumb buttons. All of the buttons have a subtle tactile cue to let you know when they've been clicked, but they make very little noise.I bought this mouse when it was much more expensive at about $65. I plan on buying the same mouse once this one finally dies, though I might pick a different color. I'm not the type to shop for overly flashy peripherals, but this mouse legitimately feels more comfortable than many I've used and it just works. It was definitely worth the money.

A Cheaper Naga, with Better Software
I decided to try the MMO TE after the forward button broke for the second time on my favorite mouse, the Mad Catz M.M.O.7 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac. I didn't experience the quality problems others did with the MMO TE, but ironically, similar quality control problems with the MMO 7 prompted me to try the MMO TE. I wanted to see if a $50 mouse could take the throne from my $110 favorite and simplify my gameplay. Part of this review includes a comparison between the two mice. The MMO TE replaces the horizontal scroll wheel and left wingplate of the MMO 7 with a 12-button panel, and removes the options for weights and alternate wingplates. Everything else about the look and feel of the MMO TE remains the same (other than using plastic where the MMO 7 uses metal). The butt of the mouse remains adjustable for lengthening the mouse, which some people with large hands may appreciate as the mouse itself is a bit small, even though the mouse is wide. For some reason, Mad Catz made the "click" of the left button stronger than the click of the right button i.e. the switch has a little more resistance. Maybe that's a longevity feature for the mouse's most commonly used button; it annoyed me until I got used to it.As other reviewers noted, the side buttons have some "play" i.e. they can wiggle a little bit, as does the whole button panel. This is one result of using a plastic underbody. To be sure, we're talking only a very slight amount of play, but it still makes the mouse feel a bit cheap. The layout of the button panel works decently well, with the exception of the most extreme buttons: I can't reasonably bend my thumb to reach the backmost button in the middle row, nor reach up to the frontmost buttons in the middle and bottom rows. Therefore, those three buttons only serve for functions that don't require fast reactions. Still, nine serviceable buttons is good enough. The tiered rows and two nubs on the main side buttons make for intuitive use in a short amount of time. The accompanying software is simply best-of-class. Mad Catz provides drag-and-drop functionality for every potential key and shortcut on your keyboard, including distinctions between left and right-side modifier keys (shift, ctrl, alt). It's 2016 -- why haven't other manufacturers figured this out? Any possible button or feature you want to program or fine-tune, from independent axis DPI adjustments to mode switching to programming macros, all exists via a simple (if ironically dated-looking) graphical interface.Bottom line: I gave four stars on the mouse's own merit, thanks to a comfortable design and tremendous software. Mad Catz took a great mouse and made decent compromises to make it much more affordable. If the buttons felt more sturdy, I would give a fifth star. With this said, the MMO TE made me appreciate my MMO 7 even more. The hat switch of the MMO 7 remains an engineering marvel, giving me faster reaction times than a panel of buttons. Moreover, the MMO 7 simply feels more sturdy. I ended up giving away my MMO TE once my repaired MMO 7 returned.

Claw grip & mmo/moba mouse
