The Contest Problem Book VIII: American Mathematics Competitions (AMC 10) 2000-2007 (MAA Problem Book Series)

I bought this book for my friend's kid, who is studying in an international school back in Shanghai China and is preparing to further his education in the States or being prepared by his mother, to be more precisely.My friend was very satisfied with the book I bought. So I think, it's nice to provide the youngster with the relavant learning and self-teaching materials.

このシリーズは問題の難易度の振れ幅が大きく、既刊が参考になったからと言って、続けて購入しても無駄になることが多い。賞品の性質上返品も難しいので、到着後パラパラとめくって10秒後には本棚の片隅に置かれたままになってしまった。海外在住者からよく聞くことであるが、日本の学校での数学教育レベルは非常に高いと思う。にも関わらず、なぜその後に諸国の後塵を拝するようになるのか、均一な教育の限界と、学ぶ目的に対する動機付けそのものに問題があるように思う。
