Purchased this product to provide power to a movie poster light box. It works great; however, it requires 8 “AA” batteries. Batteries do not last long when used in this manner (tape lights).

If you are experienced working with electricity and are comfortable being 100% responsible for making sure your battery box doesn't cause a fire, I can't say I've found better on Amazon. Or different. They're all clearly made from identical plastic moulds (if not all just the same one) with identically-spec'd switches (when present) and (to the degree it's possible) identical connection wires. So buy this if it's cheapest.Home users, beware, though: I strengthened some key points, took steps to reduce wear on the wiring, and shaved down some areas before I could trust my cases to be left on AND connected AND not worry about fire. I re-engineer most things I buy, and this needed less than most, but I wouldn't call these plug-and-play "consumer-safe" without a handy classical nerd taking a look first.

Well after getting batteries one of the boxes wasn't working. Maybe damaged in shipping or a defected part. The rest work just fine.

These are lightweight plastic, but when you add the batteries you will feel like you have a lot of weight in a very fragile container. I'm not at all confident it would survive being dropped from a moderate height.That being said, all 5 of them worked great. Please keep in mind that the screws that hold the cover to the case, are NOT included. I had to dig through an old screw jar to find screws that would work for this (this is why keeping screw jars are great!).

There was a lot of broken parts and lids missing. The DC Jacks some did not work, some of the battery packs had cracks I ordered 190 packs at one time had to return several damaged items.

I used this to power wireless DVR cameras on my paranormal investigation. Yes it's expensive to run those off batteries; but sometimes there's no power. Either way, one box powered a wireless camera for 8 hours. Plenty of time for us to do what we needed to do. Could possibly improve this setup if I bought a bunch of rechargeable batteries.

Didn’t recharge via solar. Then stopped working totally an could no longer be charged via usb.

Molding quality is not as good as more expensive ones available.The plastic is thinner and rough, clips are bent and don't sit flush on the end of the case after closing.The internal panel that cover wiring is not secured by screws (the othe rmore expensive ones are)Wire is 24 AWG

Remarkably, all 5 battery holders were faulty! I checked all my batteries and they all worked with an old battery holder I have, but this shipment must have come from a dodgy batch. Sent them back for a refund rather than risk faulty replacements.
