Introducing the Crown 60, with Vapor Current Suspension technology. Weighing less than the Vapor Trail at 2 lbs, 2 oz (1 lb 13 oz with frame removed), the Crown 60 is a top loader with a secure roll-top closure that provides easy access. The simple lidless design can be upgraded with our optional LineLoc lid. The frame itself is removable so the pack can be used for ultralight loads without the frame. The belt and shoulder straps feature dual density padding and new narrow webbing straps. The shoulder strap has a built in stretch mesh pocket, and the belt has the capacity to accept our optional hip belt pockets.

Last year's model!
Wouldn't it be nice if they told you this was last year's model and the newer model is much improved? I give the seller 1 * for that but I'll give Granite Gear the credit it deserves for a pretty good pack while admitting the deep discount for an unpopular color was nice. It was a good price. Amazon needs to crack down on sellers peddling discontinued models without telling you though. I'm keeping but the new model I suspect is better. Hip belt pocket s and includes a lid. Both hold a lot and the concept is good. Both use the roll top. You didn't need the lid in my opinion. The old model.I will be using this on the Colorado Trail in July and whatever other backpacking I get done. It is very roomy and the design is innovate. However it is finicky to pack, more than some others, but you can get it dialed in. I have read some complaints about the mesh material on the side pockets tearing in this model.

Rides really well
I really liked the light weight of the pack, but I did miss having the zippered compartments of my previous pack. That being said the pick rides very well uphill and downhill. Fits well to your back and required very little adjustment. The only real drawback is accessing the water bladder when fully packed. I’m probably gonna go back to water bottles.

Surprisingly sturdy
I used the pack (with lid) for two four-day backpacking trips in the Cascade Mountains so far. It is surprisingly sturdy, packs very well (i.e. it doesn't assume an amorphous blob-shape like another lightweight pack I own) and carries comfortably. Straps and outside pockets are well designed. The total packed weight on both trips was just under 30 pounds (as recommended). I have not tried it with more packed weight, but I believe that exceeding the 30 pound limit might stress the support system too much.

Very light, very spacious but not so comfortable
This is light which is whybi bought it. And it holds everything in one big pouch. But when under load it doesnt suspend at all. So its like 8 years ago back pack tech in that regard. Best when used for overnight hikes on flat terrain with hills. Did not like being trundled on AT for 3 days, was thumping my back when loose, sweaty and hard on the hips when tight.

The absolute BEST !!
This is by far the best backpack i've ever owned, and I've had a few ! Extremely comfortable and a great fit. Recently used this on the Northville-Placid Trail with a 25lb load and it was like i had nothing on my back ! Awesome !!!

love it!
The seller was Backcountry. I paid 170 bucks. This pack replace an REI Traverse New Star backpack, which weighed about 6 pounds and had about 5000 cubic inches of space.I really like the Granite Gear Crown. I really appreciate how light weight it is...about 2 pounds. I checked the pack carefully...very good quality...not dangling threads or unfinished parts. The straps and clips are smaller than what I'm used to, but I knew that before I bought it, because I visited the Granite Gear website and watched the video demo of the pack. The outside side pockets and long back pocket have plenty of room. The top unfolds to provide a lot of extra space, if needed. I really like the vapor current frame. The pack has a lot of tie downs and loops...all in the right places.Great quality, decent price for a light weight pack, comfortable, great warranty. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Well made
Got the orange one for $100. Well worth it. Really like the support the suspension offers while still being fairly minimal. The outer stretchy pockets are way better than standard mesh. Although I'm sure I'll end up shredding these ones too. Everything you need in a pack and not much else.

Thru-Hiker Favorite
Loving this pack so far. Its super light at 2.2 lbs. A less expensive alternative to ZPacks and Hyperlite. This backpack has one top opening; so if you know how to pack properly, you may prefer this style of backpack. I like this pack because of the simplicity offered compared to more traditional packs. There is no sleeping bag compartment or u-shaped zippers that open from the bottom, just one large compartment accompanied by some mesh pockets. I really like the MOLLE style hipbelts, so you can put whatever you want on your hipbelt including pockets. Tool loops are nice: I can fit my trekking poles on one side and another tool such as a snow shovel or ice axe on the other. In conclusion, if your looking for an affordable light weight hiking pack with a total gear weight of ~30lbs or less, this is a pack you need to look at. Only downsides is there is only two sizes regular and tall. But the new Crown2 is coming out soon which may have more sizes.Thank you Granite Gear and Backcountry Edge. Great Service!
