The superlight Altra One V3 will stand up to miles of speed training and racing alike. With an updated, reinforced upper featuring a TPU overlay, and the firmer Innerflex midsole, the One V3 acts like an extension of your foot. The FootShape toe box and Fully Cushioned Zero Drop platform keep you comfortably running with proper form, even on tired legs. The One V3 does not have the same soft ride as the One 2.5, but a firmer, performance-minded feel, perfect for road racing and speed training sessions.

Disappointed in the "improvements"
First, let me say I have been wearing Altra One shoes for years (I have had no less than 12 pair total of the One and One 2.5). I love them...or, I used to. This version has narrowed the toe box; no longer does the shoe have the awesome foot shape we have come to know and love. Also gone is the neutral shoe I am accustomed to. The sole of this shoe is so stiff it's like wearing baby shoes. The sole material seems to be harder than in the past (I sound like an elephant when I run now, and I am a forefoot striker). I have only put in about 15 miles on these shoes so far, but each time my legs and feet have felt like I was slogging through water after the first mile. I don't know what's so different about these, but I don't like them nearly as much as the original version (really, v1 was the best for me). I do like the fact that Altra has finally included reflective material on this model shoe. Unfortunately, that's the only thing I can say I like about them.

I <3 Altra, and you will, too.
I love these shoes.... sooooo much! I am very picky about my running shoes and shoes in general. I gave 4 stars rather than 5, because I can see where the product is going to wear down inside the shoes where my heel hits, and on the outside and inside of the shoe around the toe area. I usually wear a 9-10, so the sizing was perfect at a 9.5, excluding the previously stated toe area. It is likely that I just have fat big toes, but all of my altra shoes have been the slightest bit too shallow concerned my big toe placement, and I must keep the nail very, very trimmed. TMI? The more you know people. Online shopping sucks. Hopefully I can help someone! Lastly, I typically do 45 miles a week, walking and running, and I never wear my running shoes unless I am doing either of those activities. I can tell these will only last about a month which is expected. Way better than Nike, and Asics changed their sizing, so the shoes just don't work for me anymore. Any who, GO ALTRA! Get em, love em.

Hurt my bunions, too narrow below toe box, runs small.
I ordered a half size up and was still too tight. I use CorrectToes toe separators for my bunions and was looking for a gym shoe to accommodate that as well as a good walking shoe. I didn't like the way the tongue is sewn to one side, made it difficult to put my foot inside the shoe without displacing the toe separators. I could not wear the separators inside these shoes without pain. I couldn't wait to rip them off. The shoe is quite flat where the laces tighten, but the top of my foot is tall (normal arches tho), so the laces had to be very loose. The shoe was too narrow and squeezed my bunions terribly and was quite painful. I thought the wider toe box would help with that, but since it's a B width, it was not good below the toe box. There were too many seams and during a step would be more painful at the seams which were right on the bunion areas. I guess it's not for everyone. I ended up returning them and being fitted for a pair of seamless New Balance 2E (extra wide) shoes at the mall. If you have wide feet or bunions, do not get these shoes. Google how to measure the width of your foot with the length of your foot in inches or centimetres to get your correct shoe size, especially the width. Don't ignore your width size and just accept the standard B width if it's not right for you. Only order these shoes if you know you are a width B. Just because the toe box is considered wider than average doesn't mean It will be wide enough for the ball of your foot if you are wider than a B.

Purchased for Agility Workouts and Speed Work
I own multiple pairs of Altra Escalantes and Altra Lone Peak 3.5s, and found that these shoes fit true to size with those. I love the zero-drop and foot-shaped toebox of Altra shoes, and was excited to try another model. Though these are toted as a running shoe, I did not buy them for that purpose, as all my running needs (including sprints and racing) were already met and exceeded by my Escalantes. Instead, I wanted a model that would work better for lateral movements, so I could perform agility workouts as part of my training regimen (speed ladders, jump-roping, plank work, etc). The One V3 worked well for the exercises right out of the box because of their light weight, grippy sole, and supportive upper, but the lack of cushioning in the heel gave me second thoughts. I didn't want to risk injury so I decided to return them. Another downside (though not a significant one) to these shoes is that the shoes have a higher heel cup than I'd prefer. So while the heel is not unbearable or uncomfortable, I had to wear higher socks than I normally do to avoid rubbing. All in all, there's nothing terribly wrong with this shoe. But for my purposes, I'll wait for Altra to make a newer version that might better suit my desires.

False advertising?
I thought I was ordering a NEW pair of altra trainers, but for some reason I've received a second-hand, dirty pair. I'm very confused, nowhere on the product description says they are previously worn.

Light, built for speed!
Oh mannnnn.... now that I started running in Altra runners, nothing else feels comfortable!!! The brand is amazing & you can’t go wrong with any of the styles. I bought this pair for my speedier workouts. Fantastic, as expected. (This is my second time buying this style). 100% would recommend.

Zero drop works great
Typical altra shoes, always feel a little funny, but zero drop is what the doctor ordered, and the toe box is perfect for my feet.
