I have thin, fine hair. It doesn't necessarily make my hair less fine, but it really makes the roots stick up and hold volume. It's easy to apply, had a mild clean smell, and I love the way it makes my hair fall. Without this, my thin hair just lays flat on top of my head, but when I touch my hair after using this it has texture and bounce. There's space between my hair and my scalp. I think it works better than other volume products I've tried.

I have used this product over/over. It is excellent, non oily nor leaves residues like others. Does what it advertises. We got our hands on the John Frieda Luxious Volume Root Booster by Quidsi and it was "okay" for the price. There was a noticeable change in volume after blow dry use when we tested the product. Since it is a blow dry lotion, it does add moisture to the hair without having the greasy appearance. However, you have to work the product extensively into your hair for it to be at optimum use. The product does get clumpy and thickens if you don't evenly distribute it. While the product does add volume, it did not last the whole day. Maybe a few hours. Our answers to the frequently asked questions: Is this a liquid or a mousse? It is mouse based. Is the dryish thing permanent? The product works as a temporary fix, but it lasts a few hours. Can I use this as both a root lifter and thermal heat protector? It can be used as both. Overall, we would only recommend this as a cheap fix to add some volume to your hair. this stuff is wonderful. let me start by saying I have the flattest hair ever and this did the trick I'm guessing as good as or better than anything professional I've tried for volume. let me tell you a little more: -it can seem kind of crispy when you're drying your hair at first. it will not make it greasy or oily, but it kind of feels like there's hairspray in your roots or something a little crunchy. it also made my hair a little more coarse at the front where I applied more. -this is a good thing!! the hair needs to have a more coarse texture to have more volume, as soft silky hair is generally not as volumous. -once you style (I used heat for curls/waves) the coarse or crispy-ness will not be visible or look strange. -you kind of have to do some fluffing/tousling to get the volume to what you like. it helped me to blow dry completely upside down and I got the look I really wanted which is more volume at the roots -use liberally!! it may feel weird but use more rather than less!! good luck ladies and hope it works for you!

I found this after Fructis Garnier stopped manufacturing their product called, Root Amp. I needed a good texture spray for my short hair that lays flat against my scalp even after curling it with a gel or mousse. I have been using this John Frieda product for almost 6 months. I shampoo every day and spray this on after towel drying. I use a generous amount. I blow dry my hair and then curl it with my flatiron. After that, I can brush it out and style it and my hairdo lasts all day. I get so many comments about my hair. Even my dermatologist at my annual check-up said, "you have nice hair". It stays styled and up off my scalp and gives the appearance of thick hair with body. It also doesn't dry out my hair. The Root Amp was hard on my hair and I had to use a conditioner. I subscribed to this product because I will be using it regularly.

I have been looking for a good volume lift spray for a long time now without finding one that would really work for me. That is until I tried this John Frieda Volume Lift Thickening Spray. Boy does this stuff really work!! I really don't like hair products that have such strong scents so right off the bat I was impressed that this product has a very light nice scent. But what's most important is that it really works. The top of my hair was always trying to go flat but after using this it keeps the volume all day and is my hair stays soft and not stiff at all. Love it and highly recommend.

The John Frieda Root Booster does add some volume to my fine, long, straight hair. I'm still looking for that miracle product that will give me movie-star hair. haha I think the secret is actually a movie-star stylist; I'm just not that good with a blow dryer. This product only works with blow drying--as indicated in the directions. I've used it and let my hair air dry and didn't have any extra volume. I also use John Frieda Volumizing hair spray and In-Shower Volume Treatment. For me, each of those add more volume on their own than this product, but I do like the combination of all three. I have really flat hair...need all the volume I can get!

Tenho 72 anos, meu cabelo além de fino vem rareando bastante. Já usei muitos produtos para dar volume e suspender a raiz, inclusive produtos importados, nenhum funcionou tão bem quanto esse. Ele deixa os cabelos mais volumosos sem endurecer os fios. Costumo passar com os cabelos ainda molhados, espalho bem com as pontas dos dedos, deixo secar naturalmente um pouco antes de usar secador. Depois do secador, basta escovar com uma boa escova e pentear. Super recomendo!
