Excellent
An excellent press. Wish it was released in India too, so that we haven't had to spend such a lot of money on import duty and shipping.

JLP Vinyl Review
So this is a review for the Vinyl edition of JLP, not the album itself. Jagged Little Pill will always remain one of the greatest rock records of all time.Unfortunately there seem to be issues with the pressing. About half of the record is top-notch, the sound is incredibly clear and sharp - almost no crackling, hisses, or pops. Unfortunately then there are 2-3 tracks on each side of the vinyl that are really poor quality in which the sound is muted, and the hissing and pops are really quite horrendous. At first I thought this was something to do with my set-up: dirty stylus, dirty vinyl etc. I checked both, and cleaned the vinyl accordingly, but the issues were still present. I then checked the system by playing vinyls that are 30 years old, and apart from the odd pop or click, they sound crisp and clear throughout.I don't know whether I have perhaps ended up with an unfortunately poor quality pressing - or if the vinyl is mastered from a low-quality recording, if it is the latter then it is such a shame that one of the greatest albums of all time has been let down with such low quality production. On another note, it should also be mentioned that the vinyl edition of the record does not include either the alternate version of You Oughta Know, or Your House.

Vinyl skips
Awesome album but the vinyl I received skipped on half the tracks. I exchanged it and the second vinyl was exactly the same. It must be a bad repress so I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this through Amazon.

Brilliant new version of a classic!
well where do i begin! 4 CD's,2 essays a whole lot of memories!!!CD 1 is the remastered version of the classic album! the songs have never sounded so good before clear, loud, crisp and full of passion!!CD 2 is the reason i bought this! 10 demos recorded from the JLP sessions its always great to get new Alanis material and this sounds like it could of been a second version of this album! so brilliantCD 3 is a brilliant disc! JLP Acoustic released in 2005 on the 10th anniversary its like this version honers both! i love the slight lyric change in IronicCD 4 is a live show from JLP tour from 95! and wow her live vocal is brilliant and the quality is brilliant :) it contains all the tracks from the original albumthe whole package is amazing it comes in a book type case and has the lyrics for both the original album and the demo disc! It also has many unseen photos and the essays by Alanis and Glen Ballard are both brilliant and insightful to the whole recording sessions

A very strong and emotional performance.
I have listened to some of Alanis Morissette's songs on the radio over the years and this is the first time I have brought one of her albums. I was watching some Pre-recorded VHS tapes that I had recorded nearly twenty years ago of some old James Bond Films which included the old commercial Breaks. One of the TV advertisements was for 'Jagged Little Pill' by Alanis Morissette, I thought the indie style music was very good so I brought the album. The songs have a very good rhythm and Alanis has a very strong voice with a emotional edge. There is some swearing and some of the lyrics are a little bit daft but overall it is a very good album and even my father likes it.

Timeless classic
The arrival of Alanis Morissette signified a turning point for a new generation of female singer-songwriters. With Jagged Little Pill (1995) Morissette grabbed the singer-songwriter genre by the lapels and elevated and transported it to new uncharted territory that focused on gender anthems.Morissette, enhanced by producer Glen Ballard, added a punk ethos to her carefree exuberence and romantic vocal style. But underlying this exuberence and romanticism, were a series of deeply felt, catchy and personal moving sermons on the vulnerability of the human condition that packed an emotional punch.Throughout JLP, Morissette challenges's the assumptions that underpin sexual politics within a male dominated society - issues that struck a chord with a new generation of both sexes who related to the themes of male aggression and treachery. Its the nature of the songs that explains both the bold impetuosity and determination of Alanis's distinctive vocal delivery as well as the punk style of the music.Alanis Morissette is an an exceptionally gifted talent who produced one of 1990s best albums - a timeless and emotionally engaging work of beauty.
