Review: Works but was VERY complicated to replace - This power input jack works great once installed, but it was a VERY difficult procedure from the standpoint that I basically had to remove nearly every component within the laptop to get to the original faulty power input jack. If you are good with this kind of detail work (as I think I am), then this is a perfect alternative to buying a new laptop. But if long, detailed procedures on electronics are not your thing, I might recommend finding a friend or repair shop that is good at that kind of work to replace this item.

This power input jack works great once installed, but it was a VERY difficult procedure from the standpoint that I basically had to remove nearly every component within the laptop to get to the original faulty power input jack. If you are good with this kind of detail work (as I think I am), then this is a perfect alternative to buying a new laptop. But if long, detailed procedures on electronics are not your thing, I might recommend finding a friend or repair shop that is good at that kind of work to replace this item.

It took a while to install but thanks to you tube I got the job done. It works great. Be gentle plugging the cable in due to the plastic tab that's used for mounting. The refurbished ones use a metal mount.
