Kuryakyn 4042 Black V-120 Hornet Deer Alert

This is the second Deer Avoidance System we have ordered from this vendor and THEY WORK!! When we travel, we do a lot of dusk to dawn driving. We have seen many, many accidents over the years involving deer and autos. We have seen deer on the roadsides at dusk and dawn and many times in between, stop grazing and look up when we approached their vicinity with our Deer Avoidance System in operation. They are very easy to install and of course, all installation instructions come with the system. These deer horns are well worth the money and certainly a whole lot less expensive than replacing the front end of your car!!

This product impressed me because the package states "made in USA". In the packaging was a bag with nuts and bolts and a plastic toggle switch marked "CHINA". The switch was coming apart. I did not use it or the hardware, and I am returning the switch to the manufacturer with a note expressing my views. I am now skeptical as to where the main component is manufactured. The unit does put out a loud, annoying whistle. I installed my own high-quality USA- made switch. I haven't encountered deer yet to positively state that it deters deer.

This is the 3rd deer alert I have bought, now I have one on both my vehicles and my motorcycle. I cannot say how much they would lower your chances of being hit by a deer however I have seen many deer staring in my direction and turning around and returning to the woods.For the price I feel they are worth trying. I drive 1 hour each way to work and my original one is still working after 2 years.

as long as your mechanically incline to install.. its a great piece of protection.. i have one on each of my cars.. however for ease of installation I installed the on/off toggle switch under the hood

This device seems well built and I've had it installed on my truck more than a month and it still works. The sound that it emits is very much within human hearing and I wish that it was louder. I wish it would drive other animals from the road like dogs but it does not.

I bought one of these here about 10 years ago, used it on my vehicle, the animals wouldn't even come out on the road. I have been looking for the same type for a couple years now and found these. Really easy to hook up. I wouldn't be without them again.

Very noticeable when turned on to the human ear. I have it installed on my motorcycle and I can't turn it on because it drives me nuts hearing it.

We live in a heavily wooded rural farming area and deer are always present.We have found the Hornet alerts the deer and basically stops them from running in front of car. Or they will run away from the noise.This is third Hornet deer scare and am putting on wife's new car. The other two are still working after 7 years through hard snowy winters with a lot of salt on the road and I forget to wash the salt off.
