MAC Girls Palette # Classic Cutie

It’s hard to find swatches and reviews of this product online. I think part of the issue is the branding. What does being classic have to do with kawaii imagery?This is a cool tones lavender themed palette. While there’s a highlighter pan it’s frankly too small and close to the eyeshadows for me to ever consider using it as a highlighter. My concern would be my brush would end up with pigment from the eyeshadows on it.Many of the colors in this palette are similar. But they are all good colors and if you like the color scheme you won’t be disappointed. There isn’t a black or bone or white shade which I personally am okay with because I have those shades in other palettes. If you need those shades in a palette well this isn’t your palette.I recommend this palette as an annex to a collection of cool toned neutral palettes. I’ve been using this with the Too Faced Naked Eye Palette (mine is very old, the cool toned one in a cardboard box) to add some color to my looks. I’m not cool toned but I don’t care 🤷‍♀️I also recommend using a fluffy brush to diffuse the glittery shadows over the lid rather than packing those shadows onto the lid tightly. The swatches don’t do the product justice and some of the shadows look better blended out rather than packed on swatch style.

I am used to wearing a lot of the newer glitter eye-shadows that you can apply as lightly or as heavily as you want, getting different results depending on how much you put on. You can go really light, for a daytime pop, or really heavy for ultra glitter when out at a club. The colors in this palette are really pretty, mostly pinks which I am so into now, but the shadows are pretty light, and even if I apply more, they don't really pop as much. I think MAC is sort of falling behind on the glitter eye-shadow train, as a lot of their shimmery and sparkly shades are still fairly subtle, and don't come close to my Stila liquid glitter shadows or my Urban Decay powder shadows. The colors are still very pretty so if you are looking for lavender and pink shadows that are more subtle, then this palette is for you!

The product was damaged. The eyeshadows are broken. I ordered this as a Christmas gift and now I’m going to have to return it.
