Review: The Best Doesn't Have to Cost Hundreds of Dollars - I am writing this review after having the unit for just four days. I am surprised and impressed! I did not expect this thing to work as well as it does! It is replacing a Bodum grinder that I'd had for thirteen years. The feature on that grinder that I liked the best was the timer, turn it on, hit the go switch and fifteen seconds later, enough find ground coffee beans for my four cup stove top expresso maker which I've had for sixteen years. This OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder has a refined timer and on switch. Set the timer and just press the OXO loge in the middle of the timer dial. I suspect that if I turned the grind gauge down to #1, the grounds would be almost as fine as baking flour! I started out with it on # 2 and have turned it up to #3. It's still a very, very fine grind. Some folks mention noise, the thing is grinding coffee beans, it's going to make some noise. If one doesn't want to wake a s/o, grind the beans the night before, although, if the bedroom is more than twenty feet from the kitchen or wherever the grinder is, that person will sleep soundly through the grinding process and awake to the glorious aroma of brewed coffee wafting throughout the house. Yeah, that sentence could use handles, sorry. I bought the stainless steel model because it will be easier to keep clean than the plastic bodied ones, it was also less expensive. I live in the desert southwest which is rife with static. The stainless steel grounds cup is excellent for not having grounds stick to it. The Bodum had a glass receptacle and the grounds stuck to it all the time which was a minor pain. The trap door on the bean hopper is so simple and works great! That was a really good idea! Also, the upper burr (stationary one) has a folding handle on it for easy removal/installation. If this OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder lasts thirteen years, I will be thrilled!!!
Review: Fantastic paired with Moccamaster - I've been grinding my coffee daily since 2001 using a Baratza (Encore?) grinder. I think I've worn out three or four over that 25 years. I started with that grinder because I also had an espresso machine and needed the grinder to handle grinding that fine as well. I no longer need that capability, so I decided to try a grinder that's optimized for drip coffee. This OXO grinder has been fantastic. I only brew full pots with my Moccamaster, so it's been really easy to dial in the grind and set the timer to give a consistent and repeatable dose. You can make gradual, incremental changes when you switch beans and it's easy to return to your previous settings. As a general aside, just having a new, sharp grinder has made my coffee so much better. I hadn't realized how worn the Baratza had become. The price of this OXO is so much more reasonable, I won't care if I have to replace it in a few years. I'm also no longer wishing for an Ode grinder anymore either. Its easy to fill, doesn't spray static-ey grounds everywhere, and is easy to clean compared to the Baratza. The cup works great. Finally, I think the blue color looks amazing on the counter next to my butter yellow Moccamaster.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How loud is this grinder?**
A: Not loud, it has a high pitch sound. Lot lower grinding noise than my old grinder.

**Q: How is static cling on the grinder body or grounds container? (my cuisinart and bodum both generate static.) is there any cord storage?**
A: No static cling here with mine. This is a super neat grinder compared to the plastic one I used to have.

NOTE that the static grounding on the grinder uses the earth ground wire in the house (the “third pin” safety ground on your electrical plugs), so if someone is having static cling problems with this grinder then I suspect they have electrical wiring problems in their house where their earth ground is messed up on the outlet they’re using, or their house lacks an earth ground wire (which some old houses still do).

Static is grounded literally to the ground and needs a wire going from the plug to a rod that’s literally driven into the ground, so this earth ground connection must exist and be wired up properly for grounding out static (or anything else) to work.

**Q: Is anyone having good results for both french press and espresso grind settings? aeropress?**
A: I use mine for Aeropress, V60, and espresso. My view is at works great for Aeropress and V60 but not so great for espresso. It is not a fine enough grind to get more than a 20 second pull. I'm starting to consider I need a different grinder.

**Q: How hard is this to clean?**
A: I just received this grinder a few days ago, and although I did not have any static problem in the catch bin as some others report--all of it pours out quite easily--when I remove the hopper and top burr after only a few uses, or even one use, there is quite a bit grinds retained in the unit, mainly around and under the bottom burr. I unplugged the unit, turned it upside down over the sink and brushed out what I could around the bottom burr and shook the grinder. Grinds went everywhere on the sink and counter. I repeated and there were still more grinds coming out. I blew into the top and grinds flew in my face and more came out the bottom of the chute onto the bottom plate. There were so many grinds it seems like a significant amount is retained from the beans you put in, and leaving it in day after day will cause rancid grinds to mix with the new grind. But to clean it that way after every use is untenable.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best "lower-priced" one-touch coffee grinder I have tried
*by M***E on July 1, 2026*

For many years I had the Cuisinart Supreme Grind DBM-8P1 that everyone seemed to have, it was VERY LOUD and with dark roast beans every few months it would clog to the point where it would slowly grind to a halt and I would have to excavate finely ground coffee from the burr chamber to get it working again. The plastic grind chamber finally wore through and I had to replace the machine. So I bought the SOWTECH Conical Burr Coffee Grinder, which was similar to the OXO, but cheaper (and Amazon no longer carries it). It was a bit quieter than the Cuisinart, but still pretty loud, and the plastic receptacle for the ground coffee was a static nightmare, making a mess every time I made coffee. Both the Cuisinart and the SOWTECH leaked grounds inside the housing, to the point where I had to open them up and remove coffee grounds from the "sealed" interior of the machines. Now I have had the OXO for about a year, and what a difference! It is quieter than either of my other grinders (it's not really "quiet," but still pretty reasonable). With its steel receptacle for the coffee grounds, it is almost static free, just a tiny bit of grounds cling to the pouring lip. The grind is also pretty consistent, maybe not as good as the high-end conical burr machines, but good enough for my drip coffee maker. With a big storage bin I can leave it under the counter for a at least a week before I have to pull it out and refill it. I highly recommend this lower-priced grinder, it is well worth the money, especially over the Cuisinart.
