GRIDMANN Stainless Steel Kitchen Prep Table 48 x 24 Inches with Backsplash & Under Shelf, NSF Commercial Work Table for Restaurant and Home

I did research for a few months trying to figure out how I was going to add some extra counter space to my modestly sized New York apartment's kitchen. After looking at every single option (..literally, everything), I decided to stick to my guns and go for a Stainless Prep Table. After looking around for something that was a) affordable, b) the correct height (My counters are 36 inches, and a lot of these tables are 34 inches tall), I settled on this Table. Let me say, I am not sure about all the reviewers whose units had broken off nuts, just seems like poor quality control, and possibly some returns being re-sold. I will definitely acknowledge that there were some minor imperfections on the table, though none serious enough to warrant me taking a photo of (1 inch, pretty shallow scratch in one spot, and a 1-2mm wide dent in another). This is something that is noted in the Listing here, but before buying on Amazon I went to the MFG's website, and found that they (GRIDMANN) posted the same disclaimer on their site as well, meaning that any issues with the product are to be expected (within an acceptable limit) as these are meant to be used in commercial applications. I was VERY happy with this table. Assembly was very simple, and to give it a whirl I hopped up and sat on the table-top after I finished putting it together, and it felt rock solid (6'1", 170). With the adjustable legs the counter surface is about 35 1/2 in. high (plus a 1.5 in. cutting board on top of that for most prep. feels great), it feels level when I am chopping or slicing food, and as a prep area and workstation for my Sous Vide tub/Instant Pot its super convenient (and the stainless doesn't need to be as worried about as a solid wood top). Shipping was fast, product didn't look to banged up, YMMV but you might luck out like I and many others did :)

Our basement has had water problems over the years, but last year two severe storms resulted in extensive flooding. As part of rebuilding the basement we aimed towards using materials and fixtures that could handle water more effectively. To the end we demo'd our laundry folding area and replaced a set of kitchen cabinets and countertops that had served as our folding area, with this table (and some wire shelving to replace a pantry style cabinet. Key for us was having furniture on legs, no wood or mdf, and adjustability. I think that this unit is a good fit and the price is very reasonable in my opinion. Assembly was easy. I note that several people received units with minor cosmetic damage. The only thing I saw was a slightly bent backsplash in one corner. It's nominal and doesn't impact anything. The top and shelf pieces come wrapped in a protective film and they look perfect. I'm happy with this purchase and relieved it's something I don't have to worry about getting damaged if there is a future flood.

I just moved into an old textile mill apartment, so the metal detail goes really well. I was a bit wary to purchase this item due to the reviews about low quality materials, scratches, big dents, and pieces being broken. However, I needed extra counter space, and this item fit the bill in a price range I was ok with spending. When I received the package the box had held up well to the shipping process, so I had some hope that the product would be alright inside. Upon opening the package, I found the one of the bolts that holds the underside of the table top together was sheered off. There are quite a few bolts underneath, so it being broken didn't seem to compromise the stability of the table. I had seen several reviews where multiple bolts had been sheered off, so I was just happy only one had come off. I found no major dents or scratches in my table. It held up remarkably well to the shipping process. Installing the table legs were easy, which was great since there are hardly any instructions to speak of. Installing the shelf underneath was another story. I fought with that things for about 30 minutes before I was able to get it to a height and level enough to place things ok. The instructions make it seem like it will be easy to slide it up and down to "desired height." NOPE. Not so much. It is fine where it is now, and I will be able to use it just fine while my roomba has plenty of room to go below it to clean. The table top is the only part of it that is stainless steel. I'm not sure what the other material is made with, but it is definitely not the same quality as the top. I do not expect that to last as long as the top will. All in all, this is a good kitchen counter. It will make meal prepping so much easier now that we have space.I do feel it is a tad too expensive for the quality you receive, especially since only the table top is stainless steel and the rest of the material isn't. The box is heavy; needed the dolly to move it. Instructions are six lines. Somewhere in the leg box I found the Allen key, but I had my own. It comes with extra screws in case you lose one. Big win. Disassembled the pieces are decently movable by one person. I used to clamp to hold up the shelf so that way I could screw it in place by myself and two levels just like my daddy taught me. The people in charge of the tooling tape should suffer all of the fates of children’s nightmares. I wish they had removed it for us. Very easy to assemble. My pavers are not 100% flat so having the adjustable feet on the legs was a real win. I have another table just like this that I’ve had outside for a long time so I’m hoping this one will survive the elements as well. The size is really great. I’ll be able to organize my garden goodies easily. Once it’s fully assembled it’s very sturdy. I really like the look of it.

Very solid and sturdy. Easy to assemble. Like a few of the other reviews there were a few scratches on the table but for my purpose that was not a problem. They are not really noticeable to me unless I make an effort to see them. If you need it to be perfect, it might be a problem. Also, like some of the other reviews, the coating that is adhered to the tabletop and shelf is somewhat time consuming to peel off, but you only have to do that once. Took me about 45 minutes.

The Good: This is a solid table for its price point, seems durable, and easy to level. Once the issues noted below were fixed, which took about 45 additional minutes beyond assembly time, we're happy with the purchase. Now the bad (Be sure to check all of the packaging; some nuts and set screws may be loose): 1. Two of the bolts with nuts installed were broken off on arrival; this was probably due to poor packing. Close examination reveals that the bolt tack welds were inadequate. 2. None of remaining frame nuts were tight; fortunately adhesive was also used under the frame to top. Once the remaining bolts were carefully tightened the top felt secure. 3. A sharp edge exists on the left rear corner. It appeared that an attempt was made to remove it but its still sharp enough to cut. 4. There are also some minor rub marks and scratches on the table top's rounded front. Also appears to be from poor packaging. In Summary, this could be a great prep table with better assembly and packaging quality control at the factory.
