Great single serving grill
I bought this to replace a still working but worn George Foreman grill that I've had for over 10 years. I decided to stick with this model since many reviews of the newer versions mentioned it not getting hot enough or taking too long to cook and that it had an extremely short cord. This model heats up quickly and cooks a 1/4lb burger in under 10 min and you can warm the bun in the top. It comes with plenty of cord to reach any available counter outlet. Clean up is simple. Just wipe the interior grill plates with a paper towel (They aren't removable). Likewise use a towel to remove the collected fat from the drip tray and pop it in the dishwasher or give it a quick hand wash. The only caveat, this grill is only able to cook a single burger or sandwich at a time so if you've got a crowd to feed some will have to wait.

Non-stick surface started flaking
After only a few weeks of use the non-stick surface started flakiing off when I cleaned it. That started a cycle where the food would stick to the areas where the coating had flaked off, requiring me to clean more, resulting in more coating coming off, and making the next time I cooked and cleaned even more difficult. I finally got fed up and bought a grill where the plates are removeable and fit in my dishwasher.

Best Electric Grill I Own
I have cooked burgers in so many different ways. On pans, griddles, BBQ, panini makers, you name it. I've also had several George Foreman grills and other electric grills like it to make burgers. After making them in all different ways, I've come to the realization that my first George Foreman grill (this one) is by far the best one I've owned. I'm not sure exactly what is special about this model over other ones, but burgers do come out the best on them. Perhaps its because its only meant for one burger at a time, it really clamps down well on that one burger. It also it tilted fairly steep so the juice that comes out slides into the tray nicely. If you want to cook two burgers at a time, you might want to get a bigger grill, but it won't come out as good as it will on this grill. Also, the bun warmer on top works pretty well, but you should put the buns in them right after you turn the grill on and as its warming up, otherwise they will barely eve get warm. It also cooks chicken and other meats very well too. Definitely recommended!

Non-Stick Needs Work
If you're considering this item you're probably like me; a lazy burger fan. There's lots to like about this grill. It's quite fast, fairly compact, has good weight and the price is right. All the time you'll save cooking your burger on two sides simultaneously will be lost to cleanup, unfortunately. I got two burgers out of it before the teflon coating (or whatever it is) eroded. And this was using Pam to thoroughly pre-coat the surfaces. Typically, my burgers now tear apart when I attempt to lift the cover after cooking. Cleanup requires lots of time and effort since this product is non-submersible. If I were doing it all again I'd opt for the pricier models with the removable (and hence, submersible) cooking surfaces, provided that the non-stick coating has been upgraded; in its present incarnation it's simply too thin to be of much use.

Good value & good quality
This was a great version of the george foreman grill and a good price. The bun warmer is ok, although I wish that the cover could come off to allow for larger pieces of break to be toasted. The grill is great for chicken or other items. It cleans easily, and I would buy again. This would be awesome if it had cast iron grill plates instead of the non-stick.

Love it! Used it the night I received it.
This Champ Grill was purchased to replace my first one which I had and used for years. The cord went bad on that one and was beginning to spark, but that grill was so good, I didn't hesitate in deciding to purchase another. I've used this several times now and I'm just as pleased with its performance as I was with my other. It's perfect for a quick burger or fish fillet (or many other 'treats') that taste best grilled. Yes, it's small, but with some creative positioning, it will hold two of your meal choice. Perfect for single folks!

Not that great
I had a few problems with my grill. The first problem was that the bottom plate got hotter than the top plate, so the food had to be turned over to ensure even cooking. The whole point of having two cooking surfaces is that you don't have to turn the food during the cooking process. The cooking plates got too hot, so the outside of the food got a little burned and dry by the time the inside of the food got cooked. I especially noticed this when I cooked chicken breasts and Italian Sausages. This might not be a problem if you're cooking something thin, like bacon. The drip tray is just plain messy. It has to be perfectly aligned with the grill, if it's off by just a little bit, you have drippings all over your counter or cooking surface. Even if you carefully center the tray when you start cooking, it's easy to bump it without realizing it. They should make some kind of rack to hold the tray in place. Also, the tray isn't that deep, so you have to be really careful when carrying it to the sink, so you don't spill the drippings everywhere. This is a particular problem when you cook something that drips a lot of grease, like Italian Sausages or Bacon. Finally, while the cooking surfaces are supposed to be nonstick, I had a lot of trouble cleaning them. Juices from the food stuck to the cooking plates and charred during the cooking process. You can't soak them in water and can't use steel wool to clean them, so you're stuck scrubbing and scrubbing to get them clean. Some people have recommended sticking a wet washcloth or papertowel inside when you're finished cooking and while the grill is still hot. I tried that, but it didn't really help that much.I bought the George Foreman Grill to make my life easier, but in the end it was more trouble than it was worth. I found that I was better off just cooking my food in a non-stick pan on the stove top. Sure, the grease doesn't drip off, but you have more control over the cooking temperature, so your food doesn't burn, you don't get grease all over the place, and cleanup is easier. My grill was just taking up space and collecting dust, so I got rid of it.If you REALLY want one of these grills, I suggest looking in a second hand shop (like Goodwill or The Salvation Army), checking at yard sales, or asking your friends.
