I Feel Understood...by a Tea/Coffee Maker
When I started shopping for a new coffee maker, I'd originally been thinking of some kind of single-cup pod/disk system as I most often only drink one or two coffee/tea beverages per day, but I am relatively picky about flavor, need to limit my caffeine intake, and have some ingredient intolerances and health issues -- as a result, I liked the idea of having a greater measure of control and more options (it's also nice to have the option to brew a full or half carafe when I have company). So when I saw this machine, I got kind of excited! I liked the idea of having a variety of brew size options and an easy way to create specialty drinks -- all in a single machine. And the fact that this also provides tea brew options made trying this product too tempting to resist. Previous to this coffee/tea maker, I was using an old iced tea machine without adding ice to make tea concentrate for my favorite drink (iced decaf chocolate chai made with a high-protein alternative milk -- yum!), but this Ninja CP307 makes a tea brew of far superior flavor and makes just the right amount, so I can create a drink that tastes better than my local coffee and tea place at a cheaper price and with more nutritional value. This machine has dedicated baskets for coffee and tea, which are color-coded orange for coffee and green for tea, and I like that since it means those flavors and aromas don't mix (I confess that I wish I could buy an extra tea basket on Amazon, too, since I tend to make particularly fragrant teas -- chai and mint -- and would like a dedicated basket for each, but that has no bearing on the quality of the product, and replacement/extra baskets are available on the Ninja website). The baskets are very easy to remove and clean, as is the water reservoir. And I love the double-sided measuring spoon that nests in the side of the machine since it makes it so easy to get the right amount for each size of drink. I will say that the first few times I made coffee with this machine, I sometimes had a bit of leakage issue and not all the water had dripped from the basket upon the end of the brewing cycle, leaving a sort of "well" in the center of the grounds, but I discovered that the problem was the coffee itself, which came ground and was supposed to be the correct grind for the machine, but clearly wasn't quite right. When I switched to another brand after that previous bag was empty, I never had another problem. So the machine IS a wee bit persnickety about the coffee grind -- something that might be an annoyance to some consumers -- but I've found a brand that both I and the machine like, so it performs perfectly now, and I didn't find that early issue to be off-putting enough even at the time to ruin what was otherwise such a fantastic machine and which made such fine drinks. Of course, this machine is probably overkill if one is just a hot, black coffee drinker, but if you like a variety of coffees and teas and appreciate the ability to enjoy a good specialty drink at home, this might be a good option for you. I know it has been for me!

5-star machine for our needs.
We have been using Ninja smoothie makers for about 20 years and never been let down, so decided to try this machine. This Ninja has been wonderful too! making hot delicious coffee in minutes, with the coffee staying hot and fresh for hours in the stainless carafe, which is very nice when we get up at different times. The carafe is just the right size for the two of us. We have never had to preheat the carafe or cups because the coffee is so hot after brewing. HOT is important to me. The line of lighted dots are a clear indication of where the machine is in the brewing cycle, with the final dot lighting up when it’s done. We don’t even have to use the Pause feature to sneak a cup because the machine makes the coffee so fast. That is important to me too. Another plus, I was able to get rid of our heavy cold brew machine because this machine has that feature. We take advantage of the programming feature also, to set the coffee to be made when we usually get up. Once the time is set, the machine remembers it for the next day’s brew… The same for the size of brew. I always leave the type of brew set to Rich for hot coffee. This machine is not crazy about our finely ground coffee. I may go back to whole bean so we can grind a coarser coffee for using in this Ninja. Overall, we are really happy with this purchase and would buy this Ninja again.

These are great systems!
This is our 3rd Ninja system we have purchased over 12 years. I wasn't thrilled that our old model wasn't available anymore. However, this model has been really nice. I like the fact you can make both tea and coffee with separate holders for each. The one thing I will say is don't forget your cup when you first start using this. Because you cannot see through the bottom of the system, you can't see if your coffee cup is there early in the morning when it is dark. You might think I am being silly, but it happened multiples times to me and my husband when we switched to this system where it didn't happen before. That caveat aside, it makes great coffee and tea, and I love the options for sizes and brew types, as we often make our own specialty and iced coffee, as well as teas. The bottom opening for cups is smaller than our previous system and doesn't work with our stainless steel cups, but we adjusted by brewing into a big mug and pour it in. Overall, Ninja systems have been fantastic for us for over a decade and we drink ALOT of coffee and teas. We have put 3 systems through their paces and have been thrilled with how well they hold up!

Perfect for a BnB or for favorite coffee snob!
I have been researching Barista products for my BnB. I wanted to offer guests the convenience of single-serve options without compromising on quality or contributing to environmental waste. I also wanted to offer the carafe option for couples who want to enjoy more than just a quick cup on the run,....and a tea kettle because running water through a coffeemaker for tea will taste like stale coffee, which is just unacceptably gross. I have been using a French press, which is very good but our guest suite is like a hotel room, without a full kitchen, so I have also needed something that would not be messy, involving excessive dishwashing or wet coffee grounds. I have been researching products for months and as most people who are considering this Ninja have probably noticed, the consumer ratings on other coffee machines - from Mr. Cheapy to the most expensive cappuccino machines - are shockingly low!!! It has been interesting but frustrating to see that most coffee machine companies do not know how to make it possible for their customers to make a good cup of coffee!!! (And there are also health risks with most of the single serve coffees). As I planned my BnB, the coffee station kept getting more complicated, seeing the need for various machines but all of these issues were solved with this Ninja - the only piece of equipment needed! It offers a clean, rich, smooth, customized cups or carafes of your choice of beverages. One feature I really appreciate is the tea basket which brews tea without allowing the water to touch where the coffee has been, so there is no cross-flavoring! It works fast, easily and efficiently, without making a mess. It's much more economical than the individually packaged stale coffee grounds and tastes better than what is offered at the corner coffee shops. This model costs more for the stainless carafe, over the glass one, but I believe stainless is the gold standard so I won't ever have to replace it and it keeps the coffee hot much longer. ***Update: One thing to be aware of- when brewing, watch the lines that light up during brewing time. It is not finished until the lines get to the end. It will seem like the coffee maker stops before the cup is full- just wait about a minute, then it will finish! When complete, the lines will notify you and the basket will make a sound which you will soon get to know! There are a few 1-star reviews on this product which make me wonder if they just didn't notice this feature.

Beautiful machine that makes a great cup of coffee or tea!
I’m really enjoying this machine. I usually avoid “high tech” appliances, but the features here are genuinely useful. The interchangeable tea/coffee housings and multiple size/brew options are fantastic for our household. Even with plain Folgers, the coffee tastes far better than my old Cuisinart or Mr. Coffee. The delay brew works well. It only takes about 30 seconds to set, and it’s perfect for days when I need to alternate between a cup or the carafe. The thermal carafe pours much cleaner than my old ones. The lack of a heat plate is an added bonus for me. No, your coffee won’t stay hot for hours, but it also won’t burn. Adjust your brew size if you won’t be drinking a full pot right away. It’s quite simple. I haven’t had issues with the water tank leaks or carafe messiness others mentioned. Just make sure your tank is aligned properly. If it’s leaking, you probably need a new gasket. Use filtered water if you have hard water (with no softener)… this will help your machines last. Cons: -The machine is quite large. I had to rearrange things to make it work in my kitchen. -It’s made almost entirely of plastic. For the price point, I’d prefer (and pay more for) stainless steel in areas that touch hot water for durability and peace of mind.

So far I love this machine!!
I read a lot of good reviews and then after ordering I read a lot of bad ones. First off, people have issues with it leaking from the water tank. I always leave it in place and don’t remove it to fill it so I think that has a lot to do with it. So I think removing it and then putting it back on full of water causes the spot where the water would come out to get pressed filling that area with water causing it to leak. Just my take on this. So when I eventually remove the tank after I do the clean cycle to rinse the tank out I am making sure there is no water whatsoever left in the tank by pressing up from underneath where the water comes out and holding that and turning it upside down to get all of the water out. I did that with my previous Ninja. Then I will make sure it’s all dry before I replace the tank. Some people said that adding an o ring fixed the issue so maybe the o ring is getting worn from removing the tank so much to refill it. Again, just my take on this. Now, about the basket not draining completely when using a paper filter. My previous 2 Ninja coffee makers had a manual drip stop lever under the basket and I would have to close it after the coffee would stop dripping for a minute or so and then open it back up for the rest of the coffee to drain. I was used to doing this so no big deal. With this one I just open the drip stop when it’s done and let the rest of the coffee out. Again, no big deal. If you use the permanent filter you may not need to do that. I’m sure since I don’t use that. I don’t like sediment in my cup. I like my coffee bold so I always use that setting. I made a carafe of the cold brew coffee and use that for iced coffee. I just keep it in the fridge and drink that in the afternoon. It tastes so smooth and perfect. I also made a cup of hot herbal tea on the bold setting so that it would steep a little longer. It came out perfect. So much easier to do it this way than to have to heat water and time it myself. I would sometimes forget about it and have awful tea. No more of that. If I end up having issues with the coffee maker leaking or anything I will update my review. But for now I am loving this way more than my previous 2 Ninja coffee maker.

Buyer Beware with Steel Carafe Version - Less Machine More Money
Beware that these machines look almost identical and with the $20 to $40 price increase for the steel carafe, you would figure it was the same brewer with the addon thermal pot.... But it is not. You are paying $40 more for for less of a machine with the Thermal pot. See pictures and notice the thermal version is missing a button.... And a warming plate. At first, I didn't think this was an issue, but after brewing my second pot, I went back for another cup an hour later and it was drastically colder. When I added my milk, I found out it was only look warm. Had to empty my thermal mug and pour it into a plastic travel mug to heat it up in the microwave. I'm sure they removed the warmer because of the heat exchange properties in a thermal pot, but why would you charge more for something that has less cost to make? And it would have been fine if I could have kept the Thermal pot and bought a glass pot for my needs (up to 4 hours heating), but with no warmer, I have to box the whole thing up and return it. My advice is, don't waste your money on the stainless thermal pot version. In the long run, it is not a smart buy. The pot will eventually rust and you will need to replace it, but won't be able to get a glass one unless you plan to drink a whole pot in one cup or make iced coffee in 30 mins. Buy the cheaper and better machine with the glass carafe and buy an aftermarket thermal carafe on your own that seals. After you brew, pour your coffee into it. I think it was a good idea on paper, but with it needing to have a pour spout, the heat escapes quickly and your coffee needs to be microwaved after an hour or two because of it. Besides the lack of a warmer on the premium model, the coffee is the best I have ever had. I have had several people try it and the teas I have brewed. All spectacular. I can't recommend it enough.... The machine with a warmer anyway. ;) ****UPDATE: Again, this is the best coffee and tea I ever had, especially using distilled water for brewing. I have since returned the steel version and got the glass version. I think it is absolutely awesome you can set warmer temp and timer. It may not matter to many, but I like my coffee very hot since I use milk. Today I had a second cup after about an hour or hour and a half on the warmer and it was as hot as first brewed in the steel carafe version. It didn't taste the slightest bit burnt. I think it was a bad decision eliminating the warmer, because I initially would have kept the carafe and bought a glass pot instead of having to pack the whole thing up and return it to get a better model with a lesser pot. Maybe in the future put a switch or selector that asks which pot you have. Again, it wouldn't have been an issue if the carafe kept the coffee as hot as my vacuum thermal steel mug. I can keep that in my van for 5 hours in sub zero temps, and the coffee will still burn my mouth. I was figuring the carafe would do the same. Maybe if you brew and forget it, it will. But if you drink 1/2 the pot (I have a 30oz thermal mug), the coffee in the carafe is not by any means hot an hour and a half later.

I love this thing!
Coffee and Tea Back to Back: So... a lot of times when you hear about coffee makers that also make tea, all I think about is the awful taste of having coffee grounds in your tea >_<. Tea is often an afterthought for a lot of manufacturers. That's not the case with this machine. They really thought this design through and I am able to use it for both coffee and tea back to back without any extensive cleaning. The trick? The entire brewing basket comes off and they have two separate brewing baskets, one for coffee and one for tea. At no point will the water will touch any component that has touched any coffee grounds when you have the tea basket in, and vice versa. I've seriously made a cup of tea immediately after my husband brewed a cup of coffee without having to clean or even rinse anything. I just swapped the baskets. Tea Basket: So, one thing I will say is that the tea basket is a pain in the ass to clean when brewing loose leaf tea. There's a filter that clips into the bottom to prevent tea leaves getting into your cup, but it doesn't do that great of a job at keeping the leaves out. Granted, I've been brewing maté that's been cut very fine so that is definitely a factor. I'm sure if you were brewing green tea or earl grey, it'd be fine. The other problem is that the brew basket does fill most of the way up, and the tea will tend to float up with it, then stick to the sides when it drains. This is what makes it hard to clean. They don't really concentrate on the bottom (again, this also may be more pronounced with the maté) so you really have to clean the whole thing, and dumping the tea can be difficult. However, I did come up with a great solution that fixes all of this. I just remove the filter at the bottom and use my old tea infuser in the basket. This solves all of these problems completely. No mess and no leaves in my cup. I just dump the tea from the infuser straight in the trash when done and then rinse the infuser and basket. Way, way easier to clean and it's how I recommend brewing cups of tea in this machine. If you're brewing a half carafe or a full carafe, then the cleaning hassle would be worth it for that large quantity. Coffee: We bought this machine after a lot of research when our Keurig broke. We were done having to buy pods. I We definitely didn't feel good about the amount of plastic we kept having to throw away (we don't have recycling where I live) and it's also much more expensive. However, I don't think, with the cost of this brewer, we're going to make up the cost of pods anytime soon. It brews a great cup of coffee, though. We found that the reuseable filter it came with doesn't do a good job, so we switched to unbleached paper filters instead and we have been able to reproduce the consistency and flavor that we liked from our K-cups with it. My husband drinks his coffee black, no sugar, and very much enjoys the flavor of the coffee now with the paper filters. For the record, we were a big fan of the Dunkin' Original, medium roast k-cups and are using the same brand and flavor ground coffee from a bag. The paper filters also make it easier to clean. Just throw the filter out and rinse the basket. It's only slightly more inconvenient than using a pod because we have to scoop out our own coffee, but even then, the included scoop makes that super convenient as well. Features: This machine has a ton of great features. I've used all but the cold brew feature with both tea and coffee and it works great. Want an iced tea? You can have it in minutes. Same with iced coffee. It's really simple to use and everything works as advertised. We bought the version with the thermal carafe because we're not big fans of how coffee tastes when it's been sitting on a burner for a while and the thermal carafe does a great job at keeping the coffee warm for a while. Overall: I highly recommend this brewer. I find it worth the $200 we paid for it and its been a huge upgrade to our mornings.

Love the options!
Had this a few months now and love it! We all have our own preference of how we like our coffee and this does it all...can whip up an espresso like drink, any size cup or half, full pot, different strengths, tea...haven't tried the cold brew yet but really happy with this so far and the ease of making all the different options. Coffee tastes great and we really like the thermal carafe. Hubby makes a pot when he wakes up for an early shift and it's still warm when I get up hours later without the burnt taste of sitting on a burner. If this had a heated frother and could pipe into the water system we'd be set for life.

I highly recommend this product
This is the best coffee maker I have ever owned ! I rarely use my espresso machine anymore ! You can make any kind of coffee or tea with this machine and even top it off with froth ! The frothing on this machine is seriously out of this world. I am happy I bought the one with the metal canister. Before buying this machine, I also bought a canister to keep coffee hot for twelve hours. I really enjoy this machine, because you can make one cup or twelve cups and you can make different coffee or tea for each person's preferences! I have not had any issues with it since I bought it a year + ago and I use it minimum 2 times a day, sometimes up to 5 times a day.

Best Coffee/Tea Machine I've Ever Owned!
Unfortunately my first purchase of this coffee maker 2 days ago ended very poorly. The box arrived with multiple holes on every single side of the external Amazon box, as well as huge ones on the internal Ninja box, and because of this the internal water reservoir had a bullet-esque hole in it. However...Once I got a replacement (very quickly, 2 days later) I quickly found that the reviews and testimonials were absolutely correct. This coffee machine, and tea machine for that matter, does almost everything I could ever want. The 307 version comes with a "coffee warming plate" at the bottom of the coffee spout area, but I HIGHLY recommend getting the metal thermal carafe because you don't need to spend the extra money on a different machine to keep your coffee warm and fresh for hours, compared to the thin glass carafe. The only issue - which isn't really an issue - I've noticed is, that the permanent filter does not catch extra fine ground coffee very well, and you will have some in the bottom of your cup. This is easily solvable with Number 4. Cone paper coffee filters that will absolutely prevent this, or getting coarse/medium grind coffee grounds. Otherwise, this machine is a masterpiece in flavor, elegance, an accessibility. A must buy. (I wish I was getting paid to say that, but alas lol)
