That alone made it feel more custom than anything else I’d seen. 🔧 Installation Tips from a Real User This isn’t a quick snap-together job, but it’s totally DIY-friendly with some basic tools. • Cutting & Prep: It took me about 2–3 hours to measure and cut my slats using the template. • Alignment: Use a level when mounting the first louver bracket. If the first line is off, all the rest will follow. • Tightening: Don’t overtighten the screws—tight = secure, but too tight = hard to rotate. • Adjustability: I don’t adjust mine every day, but when I do, it moves smoothly if the install was level and balanced. 💡 Real-World Results Now, I finally have adjustable privacy that looks like it belongs on a designer deck. Went with this system instead of a DIY fixed slat setup. Super happy with it, they pivot flawlessly. I needed to install them on an angle, and I think it turned out really great, has a cool MCM look. Keeps rain off the side of the patio and adds privacy. I used cedar fence planks and finished them with Ready Seal. Definitely recommend using a self leveling laser, it will make lining up the bracket mount holes from one side to the other side easier. I would measure the distance between all the brackets before cutting your boards, if there's more than 0.25" variation you may want to cut multiple boards lengths....really just depends on how straight you installed your side support posts beforehand. Overall, one of the better hardware values I've come across in a while.

I have purchased these for the side of my deck close for privacy or the sun that is too hot flip open in the evening. I purchased these for the front of the deck for the same reason. They work great and easy to install. Quick and easy love the way I can use the deck without the heat. Blocks the light when I need it. Very durable, great product for the price. Love using them .

I bought this set for a BBQ shack I built. The kit was poorly packaged for shipping, but that's not a problem with the product. Inside, the kit is well-built, with good quality components. The instructions are fair; not great but usable. There was one major issue that anyone buying this needs to watch out for. There is a steel strip that is included. It's a template for laying out the screw holes in the posts. It works great... But... the strip is not marked top/bottom or any other way, and the distance from the first hole to the end of the template is different at each end! (See the photos) You can lay it out either way on your posts. But when you go to the other side, you may not realize that the two ends are drilled differently, and they don't line up, so it's a 50/50 chance you'll get it wrong and end up with a slanted installation. I didn't realize it was off until I was done. It's not fixable without complete disassembly, plugging holes and restaining the posts, and redoing it all. The takeaway... mark the template with top/bottom or something. Doesn't matter how you do it, just make sure you have the same end up on both sides! Otherwise... Really great looks and functionality. I found that tightening the screws a tiny bit more than they say works really well for my needs; I don't need to move the louvers often, so just a bit of friction helps hold them in place. Also, be sure and keep all your screws safe during the install. There are NO extra long screws, although there are a couple of short screws and 1 extra spacer. Don't lose the long ones! I am buying 4 more kits to complete this shack. I love these things. The install kit could be better though, thus the 1-star ding against them.

Glad we added this to our screen porch. Easy to use easy to install. Used cedar fence pickets for the slats. I think between our son’s house and ours we’ve used 10 sets. Customer service is the best - tried to get one extra set of brackets but it’s a Canadian company and with tariffs, etc. it was crazy. $$$$

Excellent as shown and described. Only issue is these come with American/Canadian square screw heads so don’t expect to be able to use a posi-drive or flat headed screw driver they just won’t work.
