For the 15+ handicappers
Best golf ball on the market for intermediate players (15-20 hdcp). Beginners (30+ hdcp) should play with any ball under $20 a box (box = 12 balls, a sleeve = 3 balls). This ball has the perfect combination of distance off the tee with less spin (less slice/hook), and positive approach and green side play. Any and every ball will slice if you have a slice swing, but this ball will hold it's line a bit better, as it is made to compress and fly straight with the driver. This ball is a 75 compression ball, which means a nice, easy swing with tempo will yield the best results. Over-compression means less distance. I've tried Bridgestone e5 and e6, but I have consistently scored lower with the Q-Star.As a 13 index, I still use this ball, because I am not skilled enough to work a Z-Star yet…which I would choose over the Titleist Pro V1, but that is another story for another time...

I'm No Superstar
They seem to fly pretty straight, so far only 4 of them haven't had the proper aerodynamics to fly straight and land in the middle of the fairway. They do, however, seem to have an anti-gravity force field that I take issue with because I'm having a hard time getting them to consistently drop into the cup. I'm hoping that Srixon responds to my requests to develop a Death-Star ball so that I can more easily slay my competition.Seriously though, they seem to be pretty good balls and the price is far more acceptable than "the ball more tour pros play". Come on people, if you're not a "tour pro" then will you really notice a quantifiable difference? I highly doubt it. The only thing I believe is that I can't trust "used" or "reconditioned" balls because who knows how long they may have sat in mud, water, etc. I'm willing to accept the fact that at my level of play I WILL lose balls, and these are at the price point that I'm willing to accept - and they perform to my level of play.

For softer courses these are perfect fore my game
These are one of my favorite choices on greener courses or in the twilight. Bright neon, not the ugly dull range ball yellow. These are soft enough to get good feedback on putts(i think putting feedback is better with these than pro v1s, but I use a solid brass putter which probably has a lot to do with it. They might not bite like Pro v1s chipping and pitching, but me personally need just a little run out to attack holes in the chipping game because I can barely hit a green to save my life. I usually play on really soft turf in the northwest and these really work for me. If I lived in Palm Spings or Florida I would probably want the Z-star or ProV. You can plug those chipping around here.

Used balls!
I was exoecting a box of new balls, not a bag of used balls. I was also wxoecting srixon q srar tiur balls in yellow, i got duped by srixon q-star balls in tour yellow (my misteak i guess, but obviously intentionally misleading.)

Love the quality of these golf balls
These golf ball are great quality. I golf in tournaments all the time and in a league. I use these balls as a backup ball, only because I use Pro V1's for my go to ball. But these balls are great for golfers that do it for fun or golfers that get 10+ over par. I liked the way they felt off the club and the distance. They had good spin, I could stick them on the green pretty well. They also gave a nice roll on the fair ways. Overall, I would recommend these to any golfer. A great design and ball.

but they do spin pretty nicely with the low irons and I chip/putt well ...
Q-Stars don't have the feel of a premium ball off the club face in my opinion, but they do spin pretty nicely with the low irons and I chip/putt well with them too. I'm terrible off the tee and it's hard to gauge distance when you block the ball two fairways over and snap hook it into the woods on the next hole, but they sure SOUND like they're going to go far.For under $15/dozen, they are a steal.

Perfect Ball for slow swingers!
Switched from Taylormade RBZ to the Q-Star. Much straighter ball flight but not quite as grippy as the RBZ around the greens. Biggest difference is distance, my 9 iron went from 135 to 150 yards with this ball. The much lower compression of this ball matches my swing speed to a tee. My Driver is now 250 vice 230 yards. Best overall distance ball I have ever played. 18 Hcp

Not as good a value as they used to be
I started using the Srixon Q-Star balls a couple years ago because they were one of the best $20 boxes of balls you could get. I would give them 5 stars at $20, but they are just not as good a value at $25. I don't like spending time looking for lost balls, so I cap my spending at $20/box. These days I play the Top Flight Gamer V2, which is just as good a ball as the Q-Star. Also look at Wilson Duo at $20.
