Can this be used to paint chocolate treats such as chocolate dipped pretzels? If so do you know the best ingredient to mix it in?

It is non toxic. But not FDA approved to eat. It would work to paint with. You would mix everclear or vodka to paint with it. It is design to use on decorations. Don't worry about the alcohol it will evaporate when drys.

is it really 24 karat gold?

No. Technically, I don't know, but 24 karat gold's market price is about $39US per gram when I looked it up just now. It would make no sense for them to be selling 5 grams of that for this little. It seems like a very intentionally misleading name of the item.

Is this 100% gold? If not, what are the ingredients?

This is not edible, this not gold. It's a gold color. It's the same as any non toxic paint you can get from the dollar tree. There is no difference. This is for cake toppers and cake decor that is to be removed. But because people think it's pretty they subject customers and guest to consume this. Let us all hope no one has an allergic reaction to this. I hope they seek legal help.

Amazon says it's 24 kt gold, but obviously, it isn't at this price -- or when you see it. The Amazon description also says it's for food, but the actual packaging says it isn't edible.
