The only other thing that you may need to think about is the resistance of these fittings and the effect it may have on your fan performance. I used to be a design engineer working with fan & ducting systems and these fittings can have such a high resistance that they limit the amount of air that the fan can draw quite severely. **Q: Can you use this for tumble dryer venting?** A: As a former heating and ventilation engineer I personally would not recommend that you use this type of elbow for tumble dryer venting. Two reasons are: 1. The resistance of this type of duct fitting will reduce the airflow from the tumble dryer and this will increase the temperature and hence risk of the dryer overheating and catching fire. 2. Tumble dryer ventilation ducts will get fluffed up. This fluff will be more difficult to remove in ducting with this type of bend.
