I was initially excited about this product as I live in Texas and have to park outdoors regularly.I spent time learning how to open and close it carefully in the living room first. Then decided to give it a test run in the drive way. I set it up in about 5 minutes, the smallest hint of wind (less than 5 mph)snapped the thing in pieces.The rods may be carbon fiber but the joints for the arms are all cheap subpar plastic.Don't buy this garbage, and if you have return it.

There's zero chances even if you got it in place in 20+ mph winds (no chance), that it would stop hail. Not thekind you'd see in the Midwest certainly which would shred it in seconds, and wouldn't slow it down. (it punches through house roofs). Drive your car to a parking garage when there's a warning.
