Very nice although made in Taiwan
The media could not be loaded. Sweet knife , wish it was made in usa, i would pay $100 if so . Stripped blade and pocket clip , wet sanded the Taiwan stamp and its almost gone, may sand further and/or force a patina, looks much better and allows me to live in denial , i left the other billboarding as is. centering is off but not bad , razor sharp out of box , grind is nice and even . Very sweet knife, Great action , light weight, bought for my travel knife so i can carry in all states and cheap enough to replace if lost or stolen. Pic compared to Buck 112 , pm2 and esee izula.

Excellent for the price
For me this is about a perfect every day pocket knife. Great size and shape, stays sharp, not hard to sharpen, and great price for the quality. It is heavier than my butterfly stamped knives but that's ok to me.

Its a knife, nothing special
The blade itself is fine, the factory edge is rather dull but nothing 10 minutes on a whetstone couldn't fix. After sharpening it the blade is holding its edge well after moderate use. The black finish is coming off rather quickly, but its nothing concerning about the blade. And since I didn't find anything about the belt clip so far, its a Torx T6 bit, both for the clip and body screws. The larger pivot is a T8.

Best Budget EDC, Great for Gifts
Got my first one year ago and have bought more than 10 since. Rats and Rat2s make great gifts, which is why I've bought so many. Ontario really puts function forward. It's thin, light, and a very good EDC.Pro tip, move the belt clip so that you can easily flip it open based off your dominant hand.

Excited to get my new EDC knife!
I've been looking at which EDC knife, watching reviews and trying to keep this below the $50 mark. Granted there are other great knives out there but I wanted to keep this under $50 and there's a lot of competition. Watching videos and many reviews I settled on the Rat 2 and got the D2 steel upgrade.Super happy with my purchase. Still new but is very sharp and just feels SOLID for only being 2.8 oz. I can see this being an easy every day carry. For me the handle and grip is PERFECT!Lock is solid and feels very secure. Couldn't be happier!

Best budget EDC
Best budget EDC knife of all time. The D2 steel is a great value, you get great performance and edge retention for how little you pay. Excellent detent, the knife is very smooth and flicks out confidently using the thumb studs. I have large size hands and they fit comfortably in the handle, no fingers are left unsupported. 3” blade is the perfect size for function and law obeying which makes it my personal choice of knife for traveling. My only critique would be that they add a deep carry pocket clip as the current clip leaves about .5 of an inch of the knife exposed out of your pocket. But this knife is an exceptional value and would recommend it to any knife enthusiast or first time buyer.

A great EDC knife to carry.
If you talk to anyone who has had experience with the Rat Series of knives by Ontario will tell you they are a great knife to carry and use. Comes new in many different knife handles and blade finishes. Well centered and finished blade with swift execution with the thumb stud with positive lock. Feels good in the hand and with enough texture in the handles to allow you to work with a good grip. I would recommend the Rat or Rat II to anyone.
