Irish Moss Cut & Sifted Organic - Chondrus crispus, 4 Oz,(Starwest Botanicals)

I bought this to use in my coffee in smoothies. When I received the Irish Moss, I immediately soaked a tablespoon expecting it to expand similar to the whole moss I usually buy. It did not expand much so I put it in a blender to see if it would blend into a smooth gel. It not only does not blend into the gel consistency, but I had to strain it because of thousands of small hard sandy and bark-like particles that would not blend. I placed the liquid in refrigerator to see if it would firm up, but hardly at all. Not sure if/ how I will use it. The label mentions using as a "tea" but I know nothing about that and it does not seem appealing for that purpose (the strong sea/ fish odor)? Let me know if I am missing something...

Feels great in the system pretty much right away, but it can have sand in it so get creative about how to avoid the sand. It does sink to the bottom of the cup so that helps

I really like this product. I used it with flaxseeds and essential oils to make a natural hair gel and it provides a nice hold.

This made great tiramisu for us.

Don't buy this. Contains too many foreign particles or dirt.
