A beautiful doll which I purchased for myself as I fell in love with Adora Toddler Dolls once I discovered them on line. She is my third Adora doll and they are all wonderful.

As a doll collector and seamstress I'm very persnickety with dolls and their clothing. This line of Adora dolls is a good example of pricier dolls due to details like wigs (instead of rooted hair), realistic inset eyes (not painted), and high quality vinyl. This is a doll that ideally can be passed down in a family; it's a collectible as much as a toy, and adult collectors may like it for their collections, as well.One of the main things at first holding me back from requesting the doll to review was the wig in the photos. It looks too thick (especially in the bangs) for a baby, and too yellow. In person, however, the wig is lighter in texture and color. I've uploaded photos in part to show the hair on the one I received. The loose ringlets are also long enough to put up in the ponytails if desired. One thing I do want to mention is that, for little mommies, ringlet curls will likely quickly turn unruly. This doll is best suited for girls who are patient with very careful hair styling, and don't need a doll whose hair they can brush and style. Because the wig is designed with a full part, including down the back, the hair is really best suited for staying the way it is.The clothing really stands out to me. Many children's dolls' clothes are fastened with Velcro. Velcro is perhaps cheaper and easier for companies to attach . . . but it can also snag doll hair and bodies. I much prefer snaps and buttons. The dress attaches with metal snaps and a metal hook-and-eye closure. The shoes unfortunately do use Velcro closures rather than buckles, though. Another reason the quality stands out is because the little dress scallops are actually lined on the reverse side. A lot of care went into this outfit.Though the company makes other outfits, the dolls can also wear baby clothing. Although if you wish to dress your doll that way, you'll want to be mindful of the fact that she has 3/4 vinyl limbs (sleeveless dresses, for example, will look odd with white body fabric showing). I've included a photo to show what the torso looks like, and a photo of my doll in newborn sized clothing, which seems a decent fit.As a collector I don't mind whether this doll is snuggly or not, but little girls likely will. The torso is stuffed, so she is huggable. The head and limbs are hard vinyl. To be more like a real toddler, the doll is weighted, wears a diaper, and is baby powder scented.This is a very high quality, beautiful doll.
