New to Smart Home? Get these plugs!
For those of you who are new to turning your home into a smart home, you should get these plugs.I bought this item and I couldnt be happier!Pros-No hub required! If you're new to Smart devices, please know that not all smart plugs are created equal. A lot of the plugs and devices require you to purchase a separate hub. These plugs do not since they connect directly to your wifi. You plug them in, set them up, connect your devices and you're good to go.-Painless Setup/ Ease of useYou will need the "Smart Life" to pair the plugs with their devices. This app is where the basic automation comes from. From there, you can use the features in the app to control the items that you've connected. You can also then also download and utilize the Alexa and the IFTTT apps for more automation.-PriceMost of the smart plugs on the market start at $20 for ONE PLUG! You are getting a bargain with these.I will definitely be purchasing more plugs from HeimVision!

It works with Echo Dot (gen 2) and/or Smart Life app
I purchased a two-pack of the HeimVision Wi-Fi Smart Plugs, and after some initial frustrations with trying to figure out how to make them play nice with Alexa after installation, they are working well together and I can recommend them.[Note: my Alexa device is an Echo Dot (2nd generation)]Some notes:1) These are a good size as they do not block other outlets. You can install one two-plug set in one wall socket and still access the other wall socket with ease.2) "Pairing" them with my wi-fi was super easy.3) Each plug can be operated independently, or the two-plug block can be operated as one device in the app or with Alexa. You will name each two-outlet block something, and then you will name each plug in each block. For my purposes, I labeled one two-plug block "Nightstand" since it's near my nightstand, then I named one plug in the block "lamp" and the other plug "CPAP". I can use Alexa (or the Smart Life app) to turn on just the lamp or just the CPAP, or I can turn the whole Nightstand block on or off. Very convenient and just what I was looking for.4) "Pairing" it with Alexa was pretty easy, but it took me a little while to differentiate between "groups," "scenes" and "routines" to discover the best way to operate the plugs. In the end, I found it easiest to create several "scenes" through the Smart Life app, which Alexa then recognizes. So now I can say "Alexa, turn on lights" and it will turn on three different lamps, but not the CPAP. Interestingly, saying "Alexa, turn off lights" does not work. Instead, I set up a separate scene called "dark," so to turn off all of the same lamps I say, "Alexa, turn on dark" and the lights go off. I also set up a scene called "sleep" so that saying "Alexa, turn on sleep" will turn off all lamps and simultaneously turn on my CPAP machine.Scenes are easy to set up, and even after running a scene, I still have the ability control any device in the scene. For example, I can turn on all the lamps in a scene, and then I can easily turn off a single lamp independent of the scene.5) Though you can record a Siri shortcut, I have yet to figure out how to make it work. Siri only says, "There is a problem with the app." But that's not a deal breaker for me since the devices are working pretty easily with Alexa.6) You can also operate each plug by pressing the buttons on the two-plug block. So, in a nutshell, I recommend these plugs for their relative ease of set up, the ability to operate each plug individually or as part of the two-plug block, and its integration with Alexa.

Can not connect
I bought these to replace some devices that did not connect at all. At first they seemed to work well, but now I keep getting an error that says my network will not connect. But I can control the devices from the App! Timer and functionality does not work. Devices are literally less than 5' from the router.I have an Apple Airport for my wireless router, it works fine with Sonos, and all my other wifi devices scattered through out the house.I am going to keep trying until I find devices that are "plug and play". Connecting these type of devices should not be this difficult!

Using these outlets at their limits without problem - high quality.
We are using one of these units to charge our plug-in vehicle drawing the max current (15A) our 110V breaker can supply and seem to have no problems thus far. The unit only gets lightly warm during this extended period of daily use. It was easy to set up and seems to work with our Orbi wifi router (many IoT devices have trouble with the Mesh networks). It seems to also communicate a reasonable distance from the router (tried other units that couldn't even make it one room away from our router which is supposed to cover 5000 sq ft homes). I will update the review if anything changes, but for now, we think this is a high quality unit worth considering.

Horrible setup/Drops connection
Update again nov. 30, 2018:They have given me a refund after trying to get the plug working. I’m updating this review because the customer service from this company was immediate and decisive. It’s hard to find companies who will stand behind their products to the extent of reimbursement. I’ll update my review if they manage to resolve all the issues.Update nov. 30,2018:Customer service has been responsive and has offered to reimburse me for my troubles and or troubleshoot the issue. If issues get resolved I will try to update this review accordingly.Original review:Horrible product. I don’t know how this received so many five star reviews but the bad grammar and the names on some of these reviews Should indicate where most of these reviews are coming from. The device set up was completely awful, barely got it to work after 20 or 30 retries. The device connection on Wi-Fi is fine, but their cloud service and integration with Alexa is horrendous. The device becomes unresponsive to Alexa every day or two. Becomes totally worthless for smart home control if my smart home hub can’t even fire it up. The energy monitoring feature actually works, kind of. I really wanted to like this device, but until they get the major bugs worked out, and there are a lot of major bugs, this device sucks.

Don't skip instructions and everything will be fine!
So I bought these because it offered the logic of turning 2 wall plugs into 4 wifi plugs. Good design decision, great price. My plan was to use these with the Amazon Echo. So when I started reading the setup guide I skipped the Smart Life app section assuming that was for some users, and that echo users just needed the other section.WRONG.You’ll need to download the Smart Life app first to make an account and pair the devices. ALSO the instructions don't clearly mention holding the button for 3 seconds to get in pairing mode. But once I got all that sorted, it was very quick and clear path to get setup. The joy of flipping on lights with my voice made me laugh so hard. I am so pleased with this and it's a great step in the direction of home automation. Would highly recommend!EDIT:1 year later, great device, but my new issue is, the devices retain the old names you gave them. So now it responds to "lamp 3" and "switch 2". Despite wiping, erasing, resetting them. Will continue to try, but am surprised that this is happening.

2-in-1 Smart Plug
I ordered two sets of 2 double plug ins. after attempting twice to get these up and working, I'm very frustrated. I've read lots of reviews and given the great results expressed I'll try again.....I cant get the app to recognise the plugs, let alone get Alexa operational with them! Bad start but hope to improve my review once I have these working!

Great Value And no Issues
I love these smart plugs, they have 2 sockets each which can be operated either separately or together. Setup was fairly easy with the app. The app is well designed and intuitive and enables you to control the plug functions remotely. I use my plugs with Alexa and they work as intended.

It's a hit and miss... total miss.
Easy to set up, read the instructions carefully. However, only one of the plugs successfully paired, the verdict on the other is still waiting. I've tried numerous times to get the second one paired but nothing works. It lights up but pairing it to the network has been unsuccessful. The first plug works like a charm and it's great, but for the price, if only one work and the other doesn't, then there is a problem. Hopefully, the manufacturer and their 12-month warranty will be able to resolve the issue otherwise I'll have to send both back to Amazon for a replacement or refund.UPDATE: I've only had these for 2 days and they stopped communicating with my network to function with Alexa. They can only function by manually turning them off and on by pressing the buttons. For smart plugs, they're dumb as bricks as they refuse to connect after hours of trying to re-register to my network.

Simple
I wish I had bought these a long time ago. They were simple to set up, and very handy, with or without an Echo Dot to control them. Each outlet can be controlled separately, put on a timer in the app, and will show power consumption real time. I hooked my wife's 2 grow lights to one set of plugs and set it up on a timer and can verify power consumption real time. On nice days when her plants are put outside simple command to Alexa and the lights are off. I feel like George Jetson.
