Review: This was a bit lighter then my monitor showed - This is my second purchase of d-c-fix products. The product line is very easy to work with, and the finished project looks great. Like my first project, this was purchased to cover some damaged wood work. In this case it was trim that a previous owners puppy had chewed on. This meant that there were some very deep teething marks. This product covered that up no problem, you can't tell that this product has been placed over those areas. I left the product a little bit wider then the trim, I had no problem going back with a box cutter and cutting the excess evenly along the top of the trim. The product did not tear at all. While having to reposition and remove air bubbles I experienced no problem. Nothing that some patience and a can do attitude to achieve desired look. Love this low budget option to covering damages. My first project was to cover a hallway door that had been kicked in at the bottom. That went so well that I thought I would try this color on the trim. Very satisfied. In the end the color was even a better match to the other woodwork in the room than the original trim color. Review: Great material for a variety of uses - This was exactly what I was looking for to use on a ceiling fan update. The ceiling fans in the house I bought we're all outdated in styling. Brass, ugly light globes, and light oak fan blades. Painted the fan with some brushed aluminum spray paint by Rust-Oleum and bought some stylish globes. I didn't know how to update the blades except for painting them or trying to find some blades that would actually fit the old fan model. Also thought about making them but it would take alot of work and may not come out right. Until I stumbled upon this and it was cheap and easy! Took me an hour tops to cover all 5 and they look great because they match our laminate flooring. It's easily removed, but probably best on a solid surface. On acrylic paint on drywall it may come off easily. It may also peel the paint. **Q: Would this product be sufficient for a kitchen backsplash?** A: I put mine in the backsplash area and it works fine. I live alone and don't have a lot of wear and tear on that area as I'm careful with the water splashing. It seems to be holding up fine after almost a year. It is a nice quality and I think it works well. **Q: I want to use this on a countertop by my sink. If I do so and need to clean it/wipe it off, will it get ruined?** A: If you only wipe this contact paper with water or a very mild detergent, it should be ok. But it is a very thin flexible substance. If you use something abrasive, it will get ruined for sure. Just as Lilana said, I would not use it on a countertop near a sink because it is not very durable. It does adhere better than wall paper - but her words "BIG sticker" is an appropriate description. If you drop a knife, blade down, it may cut right through. I used it on a granddaughter's doll house to give the appearance of hard-wood flooring. **Q: Can this really be use as flooring, anyone used this on their motorhome or RV floor?** A: YES! I covered my entire kitchen floor with this to cover the funky tiles. I have 5 kids so very heavy traffic in the kitchen. Things were spilled and cleaned. And it was beautiful. When I left the house and took it up, it left a bit of a residue on the floor. Butit wasn't so bad. Looked awesome and no one thought it was contact paper. What I did though was I cut the contact paper so it was like plank size and I staggered it so it looked more realistic. I'm actually thinking about doing an accent wall in my boys room wirh this now. And it looks really good! The wood color and grain is beautiful. Be careful around edges though!
