*WEAK* ONLY PARTIAL TANG
For some reason I thought I was getting a knife that was built to last but it was more like a single use. When I think 'survival' I think- this needs to work when you need it. Instead it broke in half on its first outing after I had spent hours putting a blade on it. I'm glad I was the recipient and that it broke when it did, and that it was not a serviceman who may've needed it in a very real do or die situation. Not sure I trust that this was just a bad one- the tang is not built for the kind of metal-piercing/can-opener movements its purported use is, and the metal itself looked more like pot metal than a good steel (though I am no expert). Sure as hell wasn't worth $100. Since the defect occurred after my Amazon refund period, I got to eat $15 for shipping/return fee when this should be a warranty issue. Ontario Knife Co. is off my list. Also, FYI the little sharpening stone that comes with has the hardness of a dense pumice stone.

Best survival knife
Modern update of the ultimate survival knife. There are some that are cheaper and a lot that are more expensive but this is the best value for the money. It’s a proven design the military and special forces units have used for years.

Cheap sheath, but excellent knife so far
Very happy with purchase so far. Solid knife. Good heft, good blade, good grip. Sheath looks like a kid at summer camp made it, but gets the job done until you can get a better one. That's easy to fix. The main thing is the knife.

There's a better option.
You could by the same knife for around 40-50 bucks, and it comes with a leather wrapped handle. In fact, I've got the leather version, and I love it. I've used it for 4 years plus. I've used, abused and put it to the test, and I practiced knife sharpening on the knife. It's a good beater knife, just know that the knife is designed to have softer steel. It's designed like this so that the knife will bend instead of snapping in half, so routine blade maintenance is a must. That's the only bad thing I've noticed with a knife, but it's a survival knife, you can use the bent knife, not a broken one. That's just my two cents, I'm not trying to harp on this product or anything, just trying to help people out.

Great knife. Meh sheath
Great tried and true knife and the rubber handle has a great amount of grip. My only complaint is the sheath is chinese crap
