Went from 25mb copper to 150mb fibre. Download and upload was faster but, overall lag still there. Loaded ping not a lot better on fibre Vodaphone Power Hub. Plugged in Brume 3, tried a few options, tried SQM and loaded ping now less than idle ping with only a small trim from overall upload and download speed. Lag is noticeably better. Wireguard VPN into Proton works great too, VPN download speeds excellent. I am a complete novice with this stuff, it was easy for me to do. Is it worth £110 to fix latency? For me, yes. Great device. Easy to set-up and fine tune for home use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent non wifi router. *by L***E on 19 May 2026* Excellent device to use as a home router with vpn capabilities. I actually don't use the vpn, I use it for routing and monitoring my connection. It has graphs showing use by protocol/application (e.g, it can identify apps such as Instagram, ring, Google etc and you can see download totals). Also has QoS and even with hardware acceleration disabled hardly bothers the cpu. Note to use data statistics and the dpi engine hardware acceleration has to be disabled. This hasn't caused me any issues though. Should you be a power user you also have access to the full openwrt LuCI interface for more detailed control.
