I bought these last summer for my twin granddaughters for their 6th birthday and they still don't have the balance down yet to skate on their own so unless your daughter is very athletic and coordinated she might be a bit young for roller skating. I also went on a reward party at a roller rink for a fund raiser at my grandson's elementary school and none of the K students, and very few of the 1st graders, could skate so I knew my granddaughters weren't just being timid.
